I have a 1995 LS400 and I want to remove the drivers seat.

Although I can see the four bolts that hold the seat to the frame, do I need to do anything to disable the air bag system, or will just disconnecting all the seat electrics work.

I've looked on ALLDATDIY.COM but no such advice re seat airbags etc

Thanks

Hi thanks, I didn't think it had seat airbags, ibut someone had mentioned the SRS system in another thread I read on another issue, and it got me thinking

SRS stands for "secondary restraint system" it means all other forms of restraint apart from the standard seatbelt (primary restraint system) so it includes airbags and seatbelt tensioners and pre-tensioners.

On my UK '95 MKiii car I just raised the seat and removed the 4 bolts.

I was an easy job, see this link for some pics too.

I'm not sure if I saw any seat airbags, but I did not need to unplug the seat from it's ECU.

Why do you need to remove the seat..... good luck anyway.
