hey folks!

tte state to use 245/40 size tyres for their 9 spoke 8.5" front rims.... fair enough..

but for the 10inch rear its the same... wouldnt the lip of the alloy stick out? i hate it when alloys stick out more than the rim..

what do people with 10inch rears use?

thanks

245/40/18 on rear.

You are using that size on the 10" rears?

No ! Typing reply when on phone. Should have read as front. Cheers!

1 more quick question!

would the 10" rear fit the MK2 without rolling or pulling the arches?

I believe so. There was a limited edition mk2 that came with the TTE badged wheels (with 10" ones on the back). Looked the business IMO.

8.5 ideal is between 235-245 seems like lexus set the front for comfort

10 ideal is 285 seems like lexus set the rears for performance(grip)

The setup is similar to the supra.

OEM usually use a slightly larger then recommend width for comfort.

Remember less tyre is more grip, quick wear and less comfort and vice versa.

What offset are the GS Sports wheels? IS OEM 17s are 50.

assuming the TTEs are also 50ET

You will need another 38mm on the outside and out, rolling the arches should give you this on the outside.

Using a skinner tyre will help ;)

From what I remember on here previously, the only person that ran 285's on the 10 inch wheels on his Mk1 (possibly others have but not heard about them) ended up changing back to the recommended 275's as the 285 were catching the arch slightly. So 285 may be the ideal for the wheel size, but unfortunately not once they are on the car.

Had 275 on my series 1 and with any weight in back was too close to touching for comfort. 285 will rub and are not needed anyway.
