Good Quality Led Bulbs. Any Recommendations?

Hi guys,

I want to change all the lights on my car to LEDs.

I am trying to hunt down good quality LEDs. I have seen loads on eBay, but I have no idea of quality or even if they will fit because they all seem to be different physcial sizes.

I need:

FRONT - 7440 Indicator (white LEDs that flash Amber)

REAR - I have Prolex-UK LED rear lights (so thats the brake lights taken care of), but still need:

-> Reversing lights #927 (12v 18w) - this one has me confused because I have never heard of this size before and when I search for #927 bulb it doesn't come up.

-> Indicator - 7440 (white LEDs that flash Amber)

I assume I will also need load resistors for the indicators, but not for the reversing lights?

Thanks,

Anees

If you value seeing behind you while reversing, I would advice against LEDs as the actual light output usually is lower then normal halogen bulbs.

For 7440 and other common LED bulbs, I believe several LOC members including myself have used this particular seller (warden_jp2002) and the products are of good quality.

Don't forget if you use LED bulbs for indicators, you either need load resistors or a LED specific flasher relay (also sold by mentioned seller), I got one installed in my IS and can confirm that it works.

Ive used this guy for years and would recommend him, delivery can be about a week, but as yaumeister says they are decent quality bulbs

yaumeister:

Do you have "daylightrunning lights in LED " as well?

The UK does not require DRLs, so if you are referring to the main beams at low voltage (like IS300 DRLs in US), then no.

If not the main beams let me know which lamps you are referring to?

Thanks for the pics 2D, your car looks really good!

Great link too Yaumeister........ :)

So has any one heard of this #927 bulb or is it called something else in the UK that we would recognise?

It looks like:

927 bulb is the same used as the high level 3rd brake lamp on the IS, also known as T15 (thanks to aztecbandit/bulbman for info from earlier post).

The only site I found selling decent LED replacement for this bulb type is from:

http://superlumination.com/906.htm

I believe sparkystav may have purchased from them before, so check with him for more details. There are some other fancy bulbs from that site too.
