Knocking Noise

Hi guys, just purchased my first is200 2 weeks ago. A bit of a knocking noise coming from the front drivers wheel. i checked the most recent MOT and in the advisory box it said YES, so checked website that you can put your mot number in and all the details comes up ( dont know how i found this ) anyway, it said the advisory was a bit of play in the balljoints, would you guys advise to get this done straight away or will it be ok ? mot was done13th june, also, anyone know how much this is likely to cost to replace both balljoints,

Hi, you might find that this is being caused by the wheelnuts coming loose. I had the same thing (ie a knocking noise) from my back wheels and it turned out that someone had tried to steal them - one wheel actually came off as i was driving along.

can also be the brake pads moving if the clips are missing. I'd get the ball joints looked at though just in case.

Or wheel bearing, it's normally a whining noise with a bearing but on my Lex it was a knock.
