Does Supercharger Cause Damage ?

Hey guys,

i have IS200 and one year ago i had the supercharger been placed. Since March (2008) my car showed some problems, such as when i' m starting the engine it tunrs off on its own. Also when i put the 1st gear and i try to accelarate i can't do it. these problems and many more showed went i put the supercharger TTE.

I think the problems is because of that....

I would appresiate if you can help me and share same happenings. Does anybody else faced or is facing the same problem?

Do you know if there are any reports saying if indeed there is a problem because of the supercharger?

Hmm, have you checked the little black chip installed on the ecu is working ok?

Yep sounds like the black box to me :D if you would lke to sort me a flight over, i could fit the HKS fcd to sort your problem :D

Happened to me with my first piggy back ecu.

Gord, what's the difference with oem one and the hks?

thx for the reply guys. i will try to ckeck the black box. in case that indeed is that the problem, is there any formal report from lexus - called booleting, as to tell it to the company of lexus here in cyprus. or i can try to find automarket and propably HKS ecu.

No report from Lexus, aftermarket HKS FCD (standard) set to 9 or 10,about £100 is what you want mate :D

These guys know what theyre on about :) but same thing happened to me & it was the black ECU box, I fitted the standard model HKS FCD and everythings been perfect since :P.

No mate, the rpm staying standard, the silver TTE box lowers the rpm 250rpm, the HKS FCD is the only other thing that comes near the tte black box, as it just has 4 wires and using the same conection points as the TTE black box, you could use others unichip, emanage etc but costs are more.

TBH its the setting that feels best on the car, some at 9 some 10 and and some 11.

Tis a HKS FCD you need................sold several to a Cypriot tuner a while ago
