Have now done a 200mile motorway run & am pleased to report that the mpg was 35.8 with just 300 miles on the odo which is a real surprise as my previous car took nearly 20000miles to reach this impressive figure.(average speed was 68mph including 15miles of urbane roads).Excellent for a relatively powerfull auto!

Here are my initial Findings----

1.The Engine is Quieter & Smoother

2.So ,too, the Ride.

3.The Voice-Activated MM is superb.

4.Bank-Vault Build Quality &

5.The potential for 40 mpg as the tank average has now climbed to 35mpg after only 500 miles.

6.The "Charcoal Black Mica " looks stunning:never really seen the alleged Grey hue even in bright sun-----surprising.

what do you think is the best it could achieve,if you drove say,at around 55mph,on the motorway.

i tried this with my bmw,and just got to 60 mpg,it averaged out at 47mpg,all after resetting the computer.

What's charcoal black mica? Is that finally a metallic black? Or is it just the same dark grey they did before with a new fancy name?

45mpg is pretty impressive even if you are just crawling along!

My car is Cadaxton but I have never seen it other than charcoal black even in bright sunlight which I find surprising. The new Hoshis are now bright silver which is also a surprise & along with the chrome bodywork trim the car really does look stunning although, like black(swirls apart) needs to be detailed more.

Today is very sunny & the car really does look liquorice black( even next to a black Range Rover) with friends & family all "seeing" black.

Hi Tel....

maybe a stupid question but what was you old car?

I don't mean to hijack your thread but...

you may be able answer a simple question... I picked up my IS250 yesterday.... How do you zero the avarage miles per tank?

I managed all the other options i.e avarge speed and avarage miles per gallon...
