Tranmission Fluid Cooler

Recommended Posts

I don't know about the LS, but on the IS200 there is an Auto Transmission cooler fitted inside

the bottom part of the Radiator (basically a long bar that sits in the bottom resovoir section)

with a pipe for in/out at each end of the bottom part of the Radiator.

I'm suggesting it could be similar on the LS and worth having a look at the rad (but it is a guess )

Just curious are transmission coolers standard fit on the LS400?

Hi

The transmission oil cooler on a Lexus LS400 is an intergral part of the engine coolant radiator the transmission oil is fed from the gearbox through the radiator and back into the gearbox. this is designed to be adequate cooling of the transmission fluid for normal usage of the drivetrain. Should you require the vehicle to tow a caravan or other type of trailer with any weight ,you would need to fit a suplemental transmission oil cooler to the vehicle. advice on the adequate unit can be obtained from Lexus.

Hope this helps
