Whilst the Battery was off the car for the starter motor repair I decided to remove the plastic Battery tray to remove the debris that had accumulated over the years, removal is easy just 4 10mm nuts in the bottom of the tray then lift it out.

Having given the tray a good clean I had a look under where it normally sits and noticed several metal pipes, possibly air con related, had slight corrosion on them so gave them a clean and a coating of waxoil.

Thought it might be worth doing the same if you have to remove the Battery for any reason as there are drain holes in the Battery tray and if you top up your Battery and manage to spill any fluids this stuff will eat into anything.

A bit of preventative maintainance costs nothing but a few minutes of time, corroding pipes could cost a lot more!
