Help Please! :(

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I just received a call from service and I got a bad news! I took my IS to get clutch replacement and now they say I also need to replace flywheel which costs here in Belgrade 1200 euros!!! I cant believe that its that much, on a almost 10 year car!!! Did anybody had to change flywheel because of clutch and how much did it cost? If you can please give me some links so I can try to get it over here. Thanks a lot!

Alex

This is just the first site i found, maybe better deals if really shopping around

http://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/product_...mp;pr_id=148919

Backs up the price as you've been quoted, pretty much the same!!!

I know some people dont like using second hand parts, but getting one off a newer year / low milage is200 (as this listing says all years are the same) from a breakers, not be an option?????

Altough most will still give the Judder that we all suffer from!!

Thanks m8! I don't know, there are not that many IS here so again I will have to look over the border which is very frustrating! I saw recently somebody had same problem and got some copy of flywheel for the same price of clutch. I will have to check that otherwise I am done with the Lexus, its too much for 10 yr old car.

Thanks a lot

Thanks, does anybody have this type of flywheel? Experiences? Thnx :)

You can buy aftermarket flywheels for about half the price of the Lexus one, e.g. at Prolex.

Or you could try and get a used one from a breaker's.

It was slipping little , and smart mechanics told me after service that they cleaned my injectors and I should put some additives and try to get it more clean. I told them that sometimes its not pulling right and they test drive it! So I was flying with my car and it turned that my clutch is slipping but not to the point that I cannot drive. When I got new clutch they told me the flywheel has little some click sound when moved to the right. So the mechanic said I can put it but I think your clutch It will be gone around 10k again... :(

Why does it need changing?

How bad was your clutch when you changed it?

Mine was warped and crap but the flywheel just needed refacing and its fine.
