Removing The Radio From Ls400

Recommended Posts

can anyone tell me how you go about removing the radio system from the dash of an ls400

There's a tutorial on it somewhere - on a US website, I think. It is one of those jobs which is daunting the first time you do it and a breeze after that. I could prob get mine out in 4 minutes now (and will have to as nearly all the illumination behind the buttons has gone).

Someone will be along soon to point you to that tutorial, I am sure.

The link was at carstereohelp.com, but now the cheeky buggers want 4 dollars for the instructions, so that you can send the unit back to them for repair!.

Anyway, heres a direct link:

Just adapt the instructions to your model, they wont be very different if not the same.

My vents used to fall apart whenever I pulled them out, but I got pretty good at putting them together again, you really need 3 hands to do it, but most of them come out in one bit.

Oh and BTW, if you have got the sat nav model then it all comes out in one lump, and its a bit heavy so be careful on the wires.

can anyone tell me how you go about removing the radio system from the dash of an ls400

thanks

Hi Karsten, the wood in the middle just pulls off. It is held in place by spring clips, I use a plastic spoon to lever it out. Paul
