hi does anyone know if you can get aftermarket handbrake cables on a rx300 52reg i have phoned a couple of places tried on internet does not look like they do ?

dont want to pay the £150 plus vat lexus have quoted for parts

no tried everywhere it has to be genuine ones been ordered today another job for the weekend !

I believe these, like those for the facelift RX, are Lexus only part.

On the 60K mile service ours had seized and had to be replaced, IIRC similar cost each + labour + VAT. Silly money if you ask me, however, ours had the Lexus extended Warranty so that covered the cost :)

These cables appear to need replacing around the 5YR 60K mile interval...

Last week I was told my near side rear had siezed. Lexus Nottingham wanted about £190 all-in to fix. Luckily i've still got the Lexus warranty so all was sorted FOC :)

Interestingly my car has done close to 90k so must have hit the 5/6year limit for these things.

new o/s cable fitted tonight but had shoes om and they came wrong so will have to fit these at the weekend
