I had exactly the same a few months ago - pink deposit everywhere in the engine bay, complete loss of 90% of coolant virtually daily. Lexus initially said it was water pump and changed it but when car came back was still suffering loss so they re-examined and it was the gasket.

hi folks can anyone shed some light on coolant loss after a 50/60 mile run the header thank is empty .pressure tested ok.new cap has me puzzled

thanks for all your help lads just letting you know its the head gasket if this fails sadly its back to honda :crybaby:

DO NOT DO THIS WORK YOURSELF it will be warranty up too 7 years or 120,000miles it was extended due to the pink cooland eating away at the head gasket....100% of the time this req a new block and head as the gasket shuffels and wears grooves rendering the block and head scrap.....

i myself have done many of these(not on the lex but on the rav 4 and avensis they are the same engine)

ps it is very common we have 3 in now getting full rebuilds free of charge..

ormi,after fixing those engines is a different type of coolant used and should we all be using this.i don't suppose that you could post the technical service bulletin could you?
