Drivers Door Lock...courtesy Light

Recommended Posts

according to my 1994/1995 ls400 handbook

when the drivers doorhandle is lifted and let go the lock should light up!

well...it doesn't!!

is this a simple fix such as a bulb?

if so where is it located and how do i access it?

It's true! With the car locked lifting up the drivers side handle should illuminate the ring around the key slot and turn on the interior light but not sure if it only does this when dark as there is a sensor on the dash so in daylight this may not happen.

There is a bulb involved but replacement involves removing the door panel and reaching into the lock.

If this bulb has gone it can affect the starter motor!!! OK I made that bit up!

Have you also noticed at night there are lights in the seatbelt buckles to help you locate the slot and the ignition lock also illuminates.

Has anyone on here actually changed a seatbelt bulb? Mine has gone on the passenger side.
