Advise Please

Hi there, i have had my is200 sport for about a month now and am going to do an oil change and oil filter change plus some new spark plugs.

My question is.

ive bought 5l of Castrol magnatec 5w30 fully sinthetic oil wich i was told was the right stuff but after reading trought a few posts i have seen that this oil is realy ment for under 100,000 miles? well my lex has done 104,000 miles and i am not sure if to use what i got or get some 10w30? would i be ok useing it this time but next time change up to 10w30 as i have already bought some 5w30?

also im looking for some spark plugs, wich are the best to get?

I can't see a problem with the oil that you have... The thicker oil they say is for vehicles over 100k because generally it would be expected that the car would use a little more oil as the miles go by but provided that a Lexus has been taken care of in the past, it should not use any oil or at worst very little.... Provided that the oil meets what Lexus recommend then it should be fine.... If you find that you need to top it up before the next oil change is due then next time use the heavier viscosity oil... 104k to these engines is just run in...

Can't comment on the plugs as I've never needed to fit them but from what some on here say the IS is a bit choosy about what you use... I'm sure that someone here will be able to advise you shortly

denso's are the oem. I've tried NGK and tbh switched back to the denso's. it also depends on what motor mods you have done as you may need a hotter plug.

Hi, I have got Ngk iridiums in mine

i changed mine to the denso ik20 didnt suit my car at all so had some

NGK iridium IX Spark Plug (6418) worked perfect
