hi alll

i seem to have a problem with is200 3s-ge.i recently noticed that i has lost a bit of power especialy in lower revs i took it for diagnosis and it produced eror code p1357 ---- Exhaust Vvt Sensor/camshaft Position Sensor,circuit Malfunction(Bank 1) ----- i have noticed that the car make a slight ratling noise especialy when trying to acelerate quickly has anyone had such a problem ?.

I guess there is a problem with the VVTi sensor or actuator. Don't have enough experience with the dual VVTi system to know if when a sensor fault comes up it is actually the sensor at fault - but that would be the first place to start

If you got the error straight after a cam belt change then it wasn't replaced correctly - misaligned cams/crank, may also be that the cam belt has slipped but for both of those scenarios I would have expected a position error rather than an actual sensor error.

Clearly whatever the problem is the ECU cannot set the correct timing which is why your are experiencing pinking (slight rattling noise under load). Try not to make it do that, it isn't great for the engine.

no i have not replaced the vvti oil filter where is i located or what is the part number i tried looking for it but i couldnt find it
