Auto Windows Down And Sunroof Open With Key Fob

Evening guys

Just noticed a new undiscovered feature on my GS300 MK2.

If you hold the 'unlock' button on your key fob for several seconds all the windows and sunroof will open. Likewise, to close the windows hold the 'lock' button and they will close.

I've had my car over a year and did not know this feature existed :)

Yes, useful feature......................but beware! On one occasion I'd been working in garden with keyfob in pocket of jeans. Had a phone call later that evening from neighbour saying, "Its starting to rain - and your car roof and windows are wide open." So feature had actioned without me knowing it (tight jeans syndrome?). Okay; so my own fault - but something to be wary of.

Just for info - this is a "user configurable option" with the computer plugged in at your local dealer - It can be set to do it or not.

On the later cars it is not and 'elf and safety means it has been stopped on the "close" option as I understand it.

Yes your right BJ430 it is no longer a option for the reasons you stated, personally I didn’t see the point of it, you had to be fairly close to the car before it worked, just as quick to get in the car and do it manually. I also had the same problem as Mickey, luckily for me I noticed it before it started to rain.
