Is There An Is250 'buyers Guide' On Here Anywhere?

Recommended Posts

Basically I'm looking at upgrading my IS200 Sport to an IS250, the SR trim in particular has really caught my eye with the factory bodykit. Having the MM pack would be nice too but I'd get more pleasure from it looking nice on the outside than having a built in sat nav.

I was just wondering if there are any threads on here which give a guide on what to look for with IS250s?

Stuff like what mileage are the big services at, how long is a clutch expected to last. Things to check for knocking or squeaks on a test drive? etc.

If there's isn't any one source of information, feel free to just stick any tips or advice you have on here :)

It would be nice to know what equipment you would have chosen to have if you could 'start again' and buy a different spec'd model to the one you own.

As I spent a lot of time and money adding the TTE and TRD bodyparts to my car, when really it would have been much cheaper and easier to spend a bit more when I bought the car and save myself the hassle. So any tips on which models are the best ones to go for would be appreciated too.

Am I right in thinking that the sat nav looks a little off-center, I had a go in one and it looked like it was placed for left-hand drive cars, or is it just an illusion?

Yes, it is directed a little to the driver on LH cars. No doubt for the American market. You soon get used to it though.

Interesting question, I've not actually looked inside one with a screen so it's good to know that.

I'm still undecided on which spec to go for, I really like the exterior styling on the SR, but it doesn't even have half leather seats, just plain fabric, and I'm not even sure they are electric!?

But I'd rather get the SR and swap the seats, as that will be cheaper than adding the bodykit to one without it I think.
