Hello, welcome to the LOC and a Happy New Year.

Normally a good quality one will be fine, your vehicle handbook will recommend the recommended viscosity and type.

I tend to use Castrol Magnatec Fully Sythetic 5W-30 often on offer at Halfords and stick to OEM Toyota filters.

Happy New year...best engine oil to use is a 'clean engine oil' so long as it meets API SJ or API SL it should be fine so 10W-40 or 5W-30 should be ok as the Lexus engine can handle both grades but try and stick to 5W-30 fully synthetic oils for best cold start up, performance and economy and change at every 10K for VVT-i mechanism to function at its optimum as VVT-i unit does not like dirty thick oil. some oils in the market have extra additives for more engine protection less cam wear and better flow and cooling in high temp or during performance driving.

Castrol Magnatec 5W-30

Fuchs Titan 5W-30

Motul Econergy 5W-30

Mobil 1 ESP formula 5W-30

Shell Helix AG 5W-30

are all high performance engine oils so will boil down to your budget really!

Halfords own brand full synthetic 5w/30 @ £10 fro 4 Lts (Sale) this stuff is re-branded Comma similar to x tech. It meets all the specification of both the Lexus and the industry. At that price you can change out every few months.

Toyota filters although I have used the K&N it's rated for the IS 300 but fits the 200 perfectly and the end nuts make changing far simpler.
