Took me 18 months to find my ls 400 it was worth the wait gave me 5 years & 60,000 miles of smiles, I would still have it now if I hadn't been tempted away by a bargain 430. Be patient & you will find a good one but be prepared to travel. Most people who own these cars tend to keep them as the only option to replace them is a later LS, As the 430s are coming down in price some should come on the market. Be prepared to take any colour combo though as good low miles ones are like hens teeth.

still looking i'm afraid, lot of 400's out there but so far only found a lot of cheap rubbish, a lot of "on the edge" and a few ok but overpriced. Got one more to look at shortly that might be an ok car at an ok price.

to be honest if i dont come up trumps soon i'm tempted to look at an early ls430 - but the air sussy issues scare me off a bit.

maybe i should be looking at a GS!!! (lots of nice ones out there at good prices)

any tip-offs appreciated.....

I was in the same boat as you about 12 months ago.

Initially I was thinking LS430, but joined here, asked advice and read loads of LS threads, and worried about the same issue as you, namely the suspension.

Hence I ended up with the 400, and I'm very very happy with it.

I'm biased but hang out for a good mark 4 ( you will not regret it) if you but a gs 300 every time you see a Ls 400 you will be thinking that's the car I should have bought. A bit like boxter owners seeing 911s. the Ls 400 is better on fuel & the V8 is an engine to die for.
