Corrosion On Rear Wheel Arch

Recommended Posts

Hi All. Hoping someone could help

I have recently picked up a 55 plate is250 and love it. I have however notice that the lip of the rear left wheel arch is corroding - not what you'd expect from a 8 year old lexus!

As there isn't any other corrosion anywhere else I'm wondering if there car has been in a minor accident and repaired badly, or is simply suffering with a minor corrosion problem.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm wondering if I'm worth taking it to Lexus or if they'll fob me off.

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

If it's anything like the IS200, then the IS250 should be covered by the same 12-year anti-corrotion warranty. I suggest that you pop over to Lexus to have it accessed. They don't normally charge for accessing corrosion on bodywork.

When ever I wash my car I always get the hose pipe out and clean around the rear wheel arch lip removing any built up dirt, its amazing how much collects around the wheel arch if never cleaned.
