Windscreen Heat Reflector

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if during these extremely hot days anyone has bought and uses those silver heat reflective windshield covers? My dashboard and interior is getting extremely hot these days and unfortunately there isnt much shaded areas to park. wondering if i should get a cheap one and just leave it on the windscreen externally

My cousin called in to see me today and he has got one..................absolutely brilliant, works a real treat.

The one that he has folds up very quickly to about nine inches in diameter and can be tucked away in a door pocket very easily. The only ones that I have seen outside of this one are the concertina type which take up more room when not in use.

I asked him where he got it from and it seems that he purchased it whilst over in the Oman, it was only then that I noticed some kind of Arabic advertising on it!! Having seen how effective they are, I will go with the concertina type if that is all that I can get hold of.

With hailstones forecast for tomorrow, I might hang on a bit before buying!

There are a few of these about. There seems to be some reasonable reviews here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Quality-Branded-Sumex-Large-Windscreen/dp/B001JYARP4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1374527249&sr=8-2&keywords=windscreen+reflector

Also at Halfords.....http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmd?srch=windscreen+heat+reflectors&action=search&storeId=10001&catalogId=10151&langId=-1

I got one from Costco a month ago... best thing I've bought yet !!! all this sun is burning the heck out of my black leather... but this sun shield (£5) does good..... springs up and pop[s in to cover 100% of the windscreen... (takes 10 seconds if that to fit...) much better inside now. it also comes with 2 smaller side window black mesh ones...it also comes in 2 sizes...(same price) this one is the smaller one... and fits like a glove.

the top link is what it looks like when open...but this is a large one mine is smaller(you will need a smaller one too)

the bottom link is almost identical, but it's all silver not coloured ! and it was about £5 !!

They work a treat, and certainly keep the black leather from absorbing all the energy and burning my bottom :hehe:

That looks quite good and a great price, i take it you put it inside the glass?
