Is220D Injector Problem

Hey guys

I've got a 2007 is220d and I'm trying to diagnose an issue with the injectors namely No1 injector.

I've checked all the things I can think of but I have found no fuel getting through the injector, I'm religious with servicing and filter changes etc so can't understand the instant failure.

I've cracked the bleed nut on the fuel return and I have fuel there and it's under high pressure the supply side and when I disconnect the lead from the top there is no change in engine tone, so I'm thinking that its seen better days and perhaps the solenoid is faulty,

My question is can you just replace the solenoid or is it better to replace the whole thing for £390 ish ??

Is there anywhere to get them second hand or even reconditioned ?

Can you get overhaul kits and or the solenoid separately ?

Cheers

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

Having looked at the exploded diagram for the injectors there is no mention of a repair/rebuild kit so it looks like a complete assambly.

If you can find a local diesel specialist they may be able to offer a repair and then test it for spray pattern etc.

As far as I know there is no reprogramming required for the replacement.

I found this company in Birmingham but have never used them or have any association with them.
