Aircon Belt Noise

I have noticed that there is a noise coming from my air on belt. Upon inspection I can see the pulley wheel that you put tension on the belt has a little play in it. This is where the noise seems to be coming from. Is it a case of just tightening it up a little or do I need a new pulley as I can't seem to find. Any help would be much appreciated

I doubt it needs tightening, worth checking but it sounds like the bearing on that idle pulley is worn.

Does the noise decrease when the air con is running? If it does decrease then it may well be the bearing on the aircon compressor clutch... if not then my money is on the tensioner bearing.... As said there should be no play in the tensioner but to adjust the tensioner you losen the bolt in the centre of the tensioner and adjust on the long bolt, so if the centre bolt is lose then that may be your issue......It is a ten second job just to get a spanner onto the bolt and give it a nip, if the bolt is lose, then it will be obviously lose so you don't neet to tighten it 'till you turn purple.....

If the bolt is tight then it will be your bearing on the tensioner......
