Just Bought An Isf...

Recommended Posts

I have just bought an IS F from Lexus Derby, picking it up next week, its a 2011, just over 8k miles, Cadoxton Slate colour. looks to be in really good condition.

I'm getting divorced so I don't need the Land Cruiser any more.....

Just wondered if anyone here knows the car??

Cheers

Jon

I'm told it has all the services. Salesguy said the owner was very careful looking after it and a member of the owners club, which made me wonder if anyone would recognise the car..

Yes, it's a terrible sacrifice to make, I was always ploughing through snowdrifts, wading fords and crossing rough terrain with it (cough). I think I'll live with the odd patch of white stuff...

Mind you, thats a thought, are there recommended winter wheels/tyres for an IS-F?

Last year they were non existent but my dealer said they will be getting a few sets in for this year. As soon as know more I'll post details.

I got stuck on my drive and its completely flat!

are there no off the shelf winter tyres the same size? Sorry to sound like a stuck record but I've got a set of conti winter sports for the Elise and some avons for the family run around and both are fabulous in snow.

Elise being light with fat tyres is useless in snow too. But with winters on it was fine.id have thought someone made some in th right size...

As long as it isn't this one used on the Lexus Derby Open Road Event a couple of years ago, also one owner, low mileage but thrashed by around 50 drivers along the roads around Staunton Harold Hall!

Well, that looks a different colour though photos can be misleading, however mine is an 11 reg rather than a 60, so I think I should be safe... Thanks for the heads up though.

all of them will have been driven hard go a greater or lesser extent. In many ways a well driven hard life would be better if, for example the oil was always allowed to warm up properly. Amount of people who hit high revs on cold oil in cars is surprising. having said that id wish to avoid the old evo isf as that really did have a tough life:

Picked it up today, apparently it belonged to a guy called Terry who really looked after it. I've seen a thread by him about the car on this board and I believe it. The car is immaculate and drives amazingly. I took the very long way back just to have a bit of fun with it. I'll snap a couple of piccies when the sun comes out..

Unfortunately, it will now commence getting some serious use, bit of a shame really because if I could afford to I would put it away and only use it on special occasions, it really is that good..

  • 2 weeks later...

Had it just over a week now and done 1,000 miles so far.. Puts a smile on my face every time I get in it. Managed to really surprise my sister who has a history of owning modern sports cars with how fast it can accelerate in 2nd from 20mph.....

Going to sort out some high performance driver training soon plus planning a trip to some autobahn and Nurburgring next year with son, that should be fun!

Took mine round Europe this summer, and to the ring in April. It was fantastic round the Ring...brilliant fun. Even bumped (not literally) into one of the Lads on here with an IS-F.
