Noticed the other day that my windscreen wiper arms were looking a little shoddy.

It looks as though they had been spayed matt black by a previous owner, and the metal/chrome underneath is showing through.

But is that right, what is the correct colour for a MK IV wiper arm. Is it black or chrome ??

What do other models have as their colour ??

What is the general consensus of opinion, clean them back to chrome or keep them as matt black ?

There are quite a few black painted chrome bits on the LS400, the wiper arms, the trim either side of the windscreen and the trim between the between the front and rear doors.

Mine were matt black on my old 400, they also had signs of wear so you could see the silver underneath.

Took them off, cleaned, lightly sanded, primed and them finally matt black spray.
