It wasn't the P85d. It was the one in the middle but with loads of options on it, some of which I don't need or care for.

Hmm talking about the M5, I drove an ex demo the other week. Was getting 19mpg according to the computer :)

So what did you think of the Tesla compared to the M5?

I've not driven the Tesla on purpose, because I know if I do drive one, I'll likely order one on the spot.

20mpg from a M5 is impressive, I've seen 8mpg from my 335i on a 'spirited run', so either you have very good self control, or the example you drove defied the laws of physics :)....Incidentally I was also able to used up 20% of the Leaf's charge on a 10 mile 'spirited' B road drive...Regardless of ICE or EV power, if you drive a car hard you use up energy. But the difference with the Leaf, 20% charge on the Leaf costs about 30p to re-charge, same drive in the 335i would have cost me about £5 :msn-oh:

So just looked up the stats for the Miria:

£63k, 300 mile range, 153 BHP, only a handful of places to get hydrogen....In what way is that better or progress compared to even the base spec Tesla 70D??

If you were a tree hugger you may have a different view :whistling:

Interesting responses guys. I test drove a Leaf today and thought it was quite fun to drive like ganzoom mentioned. It looks a bit weird though but I've been told the next gen model will look more like a normal car.
