Tmobile Transfer Number?

People, what's the deal with TMobile transferring existing PAYG phone numbers to a Pay Monthly line?

My situation is, i have a PAYG chip. I don't want to change the phone number, but want a new Pay Monthly tariff. I dont feel that i should be charged £120 for transferring my phone number over to a 24month contract with TMobile!!!

What's the boards recommendations?

To start with Nij, get rid of Tmobile  they are crap.....ask them for a PAK code so you can tranfer your number and get on to another network. I wasnt charged when i took my number accross to another network, altough this might be different on PAYG

I think its only orange who let you port your number from PAYG to contract for free, I would just port away from T-mobile to either Orange or Vodafone, both better networks and Stop the Clock on Vodafone is fantastic :D

My mate managed to port his PAYG number to Contract ........ for free.

Demand they do it for free, or you will go else where .

What's wrong with T-Mobile ?

I've been with them since they were Mercury One 2 One ......... I never have problems, besides most of my mates (all two of em  ) are on T-Mobile ....... so It's free for me to call, and vise versa !

My girlfriend is on TMobile, and they offering us free minutes to each other... which means we can talk to each other with minimal costs. That is the reason i am still with TMobile...

Same as you Ahmet... Since the days of good old "121"... Even had the old Motorola M301 :D

That's why i don't want to change to Orange...

(PS: I already have Vodafone for work & O2 for free texts) hahha :hehe:

I had been with them since then too, had the 7-7 tarriff, then switched to the tarrif that included mobiles, but that was just as crap cause it was only free to tmob customers....and after 10 years i had enough, the coverage was :tsktsk: customer service was :tsktsk: and never consistant, when i called to transfer my number they offered my line at £3 a month.....errrrr 10 years to late to offer any kind of loyalty discounts is what i told them....... all my pho......ca......we......li.........is...... so told them to :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tomato: :P

i think i may have solved the transfer mobile number problem... have just purchased online, and there were 2 options to select your current tariff (PAYG) and whether i wished to transfer this number over :)...

fingers crossed... i'm checking my bank account details, to make sure i've not been charged the whopping £120 i was told by the lady on the phone.

Okay guys, here's the update.

T-Mobile offer a free transfer service of mobile number, assuming you purchase online. You can transfer PAYG and Mix-It numbers onto Monthly tariffs.

My PAYG was converted last night at 4am, onto the new tariff line (WITHOUT WARNING) on the same sim that was in my phone.

This morning i woke up, and wanted to check my PAYG balance dialling 150.

I did not get the friendly Tmobile lady informing me of how much credit i had.

I got a little worried. Did an account check and found that i had been charged £2.20 for calling 150. :o

Over night as my sim was converted to the "Online Pay Monthly" scheme, calls to 150 are now charged at 50p/min.

I got my new phone at 9am, and i'm a very happy bunny.

The silver V3 RAZR matches my new car :D

Calls to 150 are charged @ 150p a minute ??????????????????

This is day light robbery !!!!

No no mate... Its only 50p/minute...

But anyway, TMobile were kind enough to refund me my £2.20 this afternoon, as they failed to inform me of the charges when i was purchasing the new contract.

err yes ... 50p is what I meant, damn typos !   ............ that's still taking the pi**

Another example of :tsktsk: customer services :whistling: :P

Where was the first example of bad customer service?

Btw: I dont think TMobile have bad customer service, just unecessary charges, but then again, without the charges maybe the service wouldn't be quite as good.

i'm a little peeved. :tsktsk:

i got my phone delivered to my door on Tuesday Morning.

Brand NEW out the box, used my old sim and it all worked :D i was very pleased.

Later that evening i attempted to transfer calls as there was a call waiting. "Operation failed" it kept bleeping in my ear. Nevermind i thought, maybe its in the settings.

Looked through the settings, couldn't find the damn thing.

Rang TMobile yesterday morning, they said they'd send me a new phone. I thought, okay fine, no hassles. :)

Later that day, i figured out it wasn't the phone at fault, but the sim i was using was an old 5v sim. So i rang t-mobile and they offered a free sim replacement.

Both New Phone and Sim arrived this morning. I'm still very happy at the speedy turnaround times.

UNTIL....

i find out the replacement phone, IS NOT A NEW phone. It has been used, and damaged on the front screen! There is a line missing from the LCD panel so i cant read my txt messages, and the hinge creeks. What a ***** take.

I had to send my original NEW phone back. And now i'm stuck with this misused second hand phone.

I rang t-mobile about an hour ago. They have offered to re replace the second phone, and should be with me on Monday morning!

At least the new sim, fixed the call waiting option, but now i have a broken phone :crybaby:

TMobile should not replace new phones with repaired old phones. I'm not happy with this.

Rest of service has been fine so far :)

thought i'd have a little moan....

Customer Service on the phone is fine.

It's just it doesn't do what it says on the tin.

i.e "We will send you a new replacement phone"

but instead i got

"a duff second hand replacement phone"

All will be sorted by monday i hope... i am a patient man at times... gives me time to screw around with this phone some more, lol. :D
