  1. Hi more often than not its o2 sensors bank 1 and bank 2, maybe 1 maybe both, best thing to is buy a code reader of off ebay, less than £30 quid. It could be a number of other things also, but these sensors are the most common on MK1 and MK2 rx300. So need to get the codes first, when you have them come back to the forum, ! This fix is almost £700 at Lexus, or a £150 DIY through the forum Cheers Jason

  2. No. You get an audible alert if you leave the keys in the car then try to lock it using the button on the door handle, or if you leave the keys in the boot and shut the boot. The car will lock if you unlock the car, but no doors are open after a set period of time ( this time length is a dealer customisable feature IIRC)

  3. Mine recently did this - hadn't used it in a week or so, came out to start and nothing but a few clicks. Jumped it, used it, then when I got home I whipped the battery out and charged it overnight. Been fine since, although I notice when I don't use it for a while it can turn over slower than normal. Remember, that in low temps, even a fully charged battery is operating at around 50% of it's capacity, so lots of short journeys takes it's toll; if the battery is only 50% charged from use, then at low temps it's half that again. It takes a full 20 mins or so of running to replace what you take out of it just starting it up, so it can deplete the charge quite quickly.

  4. I have to say that I always get the dealer to work on my car. My view is that I won't buy a car if I can't afford to have it serviced within the dealer network. I am reassured by the thought that approved parts will be used and that the engineers dealing with my car have received the proper training and use the right tools for the job. I think it is worth building a good relationship with the dealer, and if and when things go wrong and you have entrusted your car to them over the years, they are more likely to help out. I appreciate that loyalty tends to be a thing of the past, but I also think that if you invest a little time and effort in building a good relationship with the dealer / service staff, it will serve you well in the future. I know most of the staff at my local dealership by name and always have a chat with them. I know them, they know me, and a little politeness and respect go a long way. I am appalled when, while waiting to be dealt with, I hear the condescending tone of some other customers and how they treat dealership staff. Driving an expensive car does not give you the right to treat others with contempt. At the end of the day, when you end up in a garage, you need them more than they need you! Treat others the way you expect to be treated and they are likely to do the same. Feel free to disagree!

  6. Mine went in for a couple of other jobs and I mentioned the mpg was rubbish 26mpg. When I got it back he said they reset the ecu. I think you just disconnect the battery for a day or so but dont quote me on that. The thing is people come on here trying to get better mpg but the 220d is just not very good on diesel.
