  1. 26 when i bought the lex 27 now!
  2. Mines 99/T 72K Bought it May 05 with 52K Changed 4 tyres when bouught the car as they were on minimum tread, Cam belt change, and full service since I bought the car! Apart from that never had a problem not even a bulb and put it through MOt in Feb 06 and the MOt sheet was clean no naughts and crosses lol! So its just been essential cambelt service and wear and tear for me! And I would never comprihend getting a new reg vectra or mondea even if it were to swap for my car!
  3. Personally I would find him and kick the F@*k out of him!
  4. I jump started my car once and forgot to clip the red casing onto the positive side of the battery as you have to remove it in order to get the jump leads on ! I then noticed my engine management light come on, so I popped the bonnet and clipped the red casing back onto the battery and the light turned off! So check the battery out and the clip ons!
  5. i have tried all the fules out there from: Shell Otimax and normal unleaded Tesco Super and normal unleaded Texaco Esso BP ultimate and normal unleaded Jet Safeway Sainsburys and to be totally honest they are exactly the same in my opinion none make the car faster, smoother, more MPG its all a load of bolloks and psycological that makes people think different fuels improve speed, MPG etc etc. Get a friend to do 5 fill ups for you and he cant tell you what fuel he has put in drive it and at the end of the 5th fill up ask yourself if you noticed any difference then ask your friend what fuels he uses.
  6. 1 Audi RS4 2 Lamborghini Gallardo 3 Dolly (with the biggest rims that will fit lol) 4 Lamborghini Mercialgo Spyder
  7. I love my Is 200 and will keep it till i clock 200K! Currently on 63K so a way to go I want my monies worth LOL Next car I want is AUDI RS4 in Black VORSPRUNG DURCH TECHNIK!
  8. I used Lexus Reading for new number plates a month ago here is my experience? Went in and told them wanted I wanted Got a cup of coffee that tasted nice and sat on leather coutch with widescreen tv Number plates were made and paid for them Asked about my Lexus and how things were going They put the plates on for me free and I was out in 10 mins
  9. Brilliant review thorough and good research is commendable mate! I have Optimax and I must admit I did feel that the car felt smoother and was more responsive, BUT I think this may be down to the Psychological factor of reading all the bollocks in magazine and reviews and when you do decide to fill up you think that the car is faster and smoother. I have no doubts that Optimax does clean your engine but if I was to have my IS200 filled up with various petrols then told to drive it without knowing what petrol was in the tank I would not notice the difference. BP Ultimate is the same it felt no different to tesco Unleaded to be honest and I ganied no mileage difference, howevr i do agree that on various tank fill ups I have noticed that the mileage does range about 100 miles each tank full but all this depends on how you drive etc. so my conclusion is all the petrols are the same some just cost more! :winky:
  10. there is 4 types of tint: Light Smoke Smoked Midnight Limozine these r abvailable from Pentagon windows who r superb professional tinters all Is 200 Sport come with rear smoked tints as the fronts cant be done cos its illegal but i had my rear done smoked and front light smoked for £300
  11. wicked but it looks shiyte though?
  12. I have taken an interest in findong out what is the best petrol so I tried them all out and this is what I thought! Shell Optimax - Feels smooth, car is more responsive and feels slightly quicker Shell Unleaded - cheaper than optimax but drove fine BP Ultimate - Didnt notice any difference and did not get up to 25 miles extra as BP have claimed! BP Unleaded - No difference to BP Ultimate just cheaper Total Super Unleaded - Felt and drove the same as Total Unleaded Esso - Noticed no difference Tesco Super Unleaded - Felt a little rough to begin with then it was fine Tesco Unleaded - drove normally Jet Unleaded - notice nothing different So after a few weeks of trialing after filling up 60 litres each time i got approx 400 miles which is approx 30MPG both motorway and in and around town driving. The only difference i felt was in my wallet to be honest and OPTIMAX did feel better then all of the rest but is expensive. So from now on I will use Tesco unleaded and get more points on my card instead.
  13. June 1996 4 minors passed 1st time
  14. Get your wheels balanced mate thats prob what is is!
  15. Easy Lads! These traffic boys have a hard job to do someone has to do it otherwise well have total loonies on the road! And he yes he was doing 159 MPH! But I read somewhere that it was in the early hours of the morning on completely dead A Roads! They have to get some Hi Speed real life practice in somewhere and as long as no one was hurt or injured and considereing his driving skills and regular maintenance of the vehicle he was in I dont see a problem! Unless he was doing it on the M4 peak traffic time LOl :winky:
  16. Cool - this happened to mine back in October. That's the one downful with the Lexus, nothing goes wrong - it completely confuses me !! These cars are definitely worth every penny LOL Well I hope thats the case for many years to come cos id rather spend my money on other things!
  17. Hi Guys Just put my Lex Through an MOT! And It flew through yesterday! Well chuffed not a single comment on the inspection sheet! First time ive had this as previously My Cavalier, Vectra, Calibra, Escort always failed on something!
  18. Hi Guys I have recently had a tank full of the Tesco Super Unleaded (99 RON), Didnt notice a difference when idling but engine sounded slightly rougher when accelerating! But generally it was pretty good especially on Sun Morn at about 3.30 am doing 110 MPH on the A4 between maidenhead and Reading on two decent streches of the road! Lol Has any one else tried the stuff and what was it like! I have used Optimax, BP super, Fina, Esso, Jet etc etc and pretty much all other types of fuel in the Lex! But I must admit Optimax feels smoothest, Feels like my car accerarates faster and generally i think may be the best fuel! But at alomost 97.9 Pence per litre is very expensive! What fuel is the best out there? B)
  19. Cheers Gents Ill give D.M.D a call seeing they pick up the car do the refurb and drop it off nice one! B)
  20. Hi All I want to get my Is 200 17" Alloys Refurbished! What I wanna know is that will the main dealer do them and approx how much! It is a big hassle taking the wheels and tyres off and being without my ride for a few days so will the main dealer give me a coutesy car in the meantime? I know i can give them a call to find out but thought someone on here has prob had theirs done so wanted some advice before I do call up! Cheers!
  21. Hi Had my IS200Se Navigator for almost 9 months now! Had the cambelt changed at 56K £200 as it was comming up to 6 years since the last change! Had it serviced at 60K £249 from an Independant non lexus dealer which included the Spark Plugs! Apart from the essential maintenance above it has been trouble free, beautiful to drive, great to look at and the compliments keep flowing! The negative side is that Main deealer service prices are a rip off and vary greatly from place to place! Alloys corrode easily! MPG is about 30 which is not great! But it take it over a BMW anyday of the week unless it was an M3 or Audi RS4 lol! :D
  22. Its your car mate! Change the tensioner, yr local dealer is talking bollocks! My dealer told me to change all 3 and I did! :winky:
