  1. So I turned my Sat Nav unit on this morning and it was a bit slow to open/respond but it did open and I was met with a message "Unable to read data. Check map dvd is correct." Any ideas as to what is causing this?
  2. My battery is in it's 10th year and like you for the last 5 years or so I only drive it once a week. When it does fail me I take it off and trickle charge it. It is a Toyota 65AH rated battery.
  3. Well as it happens I managed to damage my rear near side tyre today so even with no pressure in it I tried once again fitting it in the wheel well and it would not fit. Maybe it has something to do with the year the car was manufactured.
  4. You have said this before, so what is the trick? Not inflating it fully?
  5. They don't fit in my wheel well either.
  6. Anyone who has used WIM (Tony Bones) I think will rate them quite highly. I have used them twice and have no complaints.....
  7. I have tried all how to fit an 18" in the wheel well and it just does not go.....
  8. This was what I was referring to.....
  9. Someone on here used the smaller Lexus logo from the air filter housing on the grill and offset it to the left. I believe it was a sports grill and was also carrying sports logo. Can't suggest anything for the sides.
  10. Sorry to have offended you Nick. You have a lovely car and I just can't see what this emblem adds to it. Just saying......
  11. You have the packaging so why not contact the manufacturer or at least google them. Why would you want to put that on your car in the first place?
  12. Booklet says "Iridium Spark Plugs" to be changed every 60,000 miles.
  13. The IS200 is known for being "very thirsty". Your car is 14 years old and you do primarily short trips each day. That would suggest to me that you will get very poor mpg. I have been there as at times I got similar figures to yours but generally 17mpg during the winter and 21 - 25 during the summer were normal. On long trips I would get about 36 mpg. You need to question the purpose/usefulness of this Scan Gauge (I assume you bought the car with it in situ). The fact that it is there does not mean it is installed properly or is doing anything purposeful. How long have you had this car? and has it been serviced regularly?
  14. It is in your Warranty and Care booklet just before the section where the Dealers stamp after every completed service. The section is called Lexus Care Service Schedule.
  15. Well so much for being safe than sorry. I collected the "old belt", Tensioner and Idler today and the belt is in immaculate condition. No signs of wear at all.
  16. So I had the Timing Belt, Tensioner and Idler done today for £450 as I was a "long standing customer". I telephoned the Dealer negotiated the price dropped off the car and waited for it. All done slightly over 3 hrs as they did a mini valet as well. I asked for the old parts to see what condition they were in but they were not in the car when I returned home. I should get them tomorrow and will report especially on the condition of the belt which was 6yrs old but had very little mileage on it.
  17. I know that they lubricated the D bushes they did not change them. With Lexus Dealers you never actually see what they do but it has not been a problem since. Luckily this particular Lexus Dealer had a Service Manager who was a bit of a legend on this site unfortunately he moved on. Where is James Cook?
  18. Had a similar problem. Service Manager went out with me and drove the car himself could not hear a thing luckily enough on the way back to the garage it started to creak. It was the "D" bushes on the anti roll bar. They lubricated it and have not had a problem since.
  19. You missed one a couple of months ago on Ebay. Item Number 141489041222 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-Is200-Kick-Plates-Illuminated-Door-Sills-Is300-/141489041222?nma=true&si=FNA5akULGuqrF4Qz7rmD0BEmCUA%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 As far as reliability is concerned mine failed in 2005 but the replacement has been going for 10 years.
  20. Tried Swintons and they came out almost twice my renewal premium. SAGA is a joke.
  21. Certainly not. That would be a 700 mile round trip, a tank of petrol and my time. Latest quote is £480 which is not bad considering you paid £300 two years ago. Still waiting for one more quote which I will get on Monday. Fingers crossed.
  22. I think you have to take into consideration that I live in London. Labour charges are quite horrendous (£168 per hour).
