  1. There's not much to go wrong in a caliper Claire - could you just get a seal kit and give it a good clean out?
  2. You can get the pins from Lexus - they're about 7 quids each.
  3. Hiya - if you use the FM modulator you can still listen to the radio. An FM modulator is just a small box that goes between your ariel and your radion so that you can listen to the MP3 radio using the radion channel - works fine.
  4. you can cancel a travelodge booking up to 4pm the night before for a full refund
  5. RAC is well cheap for Lex owners - full cover for me and wifey for £70 a year
  6. All import Estimas have the turbo diesel engine, which you cannot get in the UK at all. There are LOADS of gadgets available on the Jap ones, and if toys are your thing then you'll prolly want to look at a Jap one - examples are television, DVD players, tints, alloys, dual zone climate control, electric curtains, four wheel drive, etc etc. There are two versions of body for the Estima (pre 2000) - one is slighlty narrower than the other (as Jap cars are taxed on internal volume) - the narrower one is the Estima Emina. Only common problem on the diesel engine is blocked radiator, which can lead to a cracked head. The reason that there's so much room in the car is that the engine is under the floor pan, and mounted sideways. My advice if you're after a good one is get one less than 10 years old, and it'll have to have an SVA test, which gives you greater assurances. I bought mine from a dealer, it came with a year's warranty, but it's been perfect. Have a look at the owners club website for loads of useful info. http://www.estimaownersclub.com or feel free to yell.
  7. I have a Dension device in the car. It can be connected via an FM modulator, in which case you use the radio channel on your stereo. You may also be able to get an "aux in" adaptor for thr car too. In any case, the short answer is yes you can fit it - it's a pretty good piece of kit too IMO. Happy to help if you get stuck - just yell.
  8. Mine has gold coloured mirrored tints - very bling!!
  9. I imported a Japanese Previa, which is called an Estima. The Jap version is a 2.2 turbo diesel and comes with plenty of toys, 8 seats and a huge boot. Probably the best car I've ever owned - highly recommended. There's plenty of importers in the Uk and bits are easy to get. I bought a 1997 P "Luxury X" version and it's been an excellent buy - no problems at all. PM me if you want any more advice / tips. There a very active UK Estima owners' club too.
  10. You can borrow them free of charge from Lexus Customer Services -0845 278 8888
  11. I had a prelude in the early 90s - it was the only car I've ever had that people used to often stop me and ask me about it cos it was so pretty.
  12. Are you sure there's not an Automatic Volume Control on your radio?? On the GS, it's just a button
  13. i've fixed the link mate - peeps need to click on the pink "fund free mammogram" button
  14. If your dealer has the equipment - they should apply the setting for free - I'd suggest asking when you next have a service
  15. I have a stack on 1st class stamps that I bought when it was 27p to send a letter first class. Now it's 30p, are the "1st" stamps still valid (they say "1st" and not "27p") or do I have to add 3p in stamps to make them first class??
  16. Batteries can just "die" - anything over 5 years old I'd probably swap out if it started paying up. Perhaps leaving the key in the ignitiion is to do with programming the immobiliser?? Get a replacement from Halfords - buy as "heavy duty" as you can. If it was me, I'd give it one more chance for a full charge and out it if it dies again
  17. The functions are CBEST options mate - do a search for CBEST on the site - I put a list on here a while back
