  2. my spongy pedal was due to a sticking caliper guide pin
  3. I think that the plates have to identify who made them in some way (quite often there's a postcode)
  4. The sockets that Maplins sell have wiring diagrams on the packs with wire colours - you can get master sockets and slave sockets there (the master sockets have a capacitor in for the ring circuit)
  5. W rating is good for 170MPH mate - I'll think you'll be fine linky
  6. I have the McGard ones on the GS - and I'm very happy with them. You can find which ones you need by checking the McGard catalogue in Halfords
  7. Man on Fire springs to mind for me - Dakota Fanning could be one of the most astonishing actresses I've ever seen.
  8. So is that now a legal precedent set then, in that a policeman "testing" a new police car is allowed to do 157MPH??
  9. Give everyone over 25 a taser and let us zap the bustards
  10. I story I heard many years ago has always inspired me - the details don't matter but:- 1. Count up your kids 2. Are they all there? 3. If the answer is yes then you have everything you need. best wishes
  11. I'm thinking about getting a BT wireless security system - has anyone got one? - any comments please?
  12. I have tried both. Although the EBC pads dramatically reduce brake dust, they're too hard IMO and cause the discs to warp very quickly - prolly more of a problem on an auto than a manual. You should only really use EBC pads with EBC discs too. I have Mintex pads fitted at the current time and deffo prefer them.
  13. There are holes in the clouds where the rain comes in They're ever so small, that's why rain is thin
  14. Well said. And it's always the same group of people that do all the moaning too! The moderating team is going to abide by the Ts and Cs, and delete / move posts without notice - that's not up for debate. If anyone thinks that's wrong and wants to try to get the Ts and Cs changed to reflect this - then that's another issue, but probably not one that's worth discussing here. All we'll get is the usual suspects all patting themselves on the back and slagging off the mods again.
  15. Read the Ts and Cs Barrie - and note the bit "without notice" We give up our valuable time FOC to moderate, and we don't have to give up even more of it by explaining why we do things. Also note the bit about what happens if anyone gives a moderator a hard time about moderating.
  16. The purpose of the thread was to invite people to an event - not to debate whether the right demographics were being used.
  17. It was me that deleted some posts from the thread about the London thing. I agreed to let the poster make his request, and subsequently deleted a load of irrelevant drivel from the post, as per Ts and Cs, as it was getting seriously dragged off-topic. I mean, what's the point of saying "I can't come" - it's like some poeple just HAVE to post something.
  18. I bought mine from Tekheads.co.uk - 50 quids for XP home (with SP2)
  19. Hiya - it's very easy to remove. 1. Pull out the top heater vent and disconnect the plugs for the clock and hazard switch - just lever it out carefully with a small screwdriver. 2. Pull out the ashtray assembly - just give it a good pull and it will come out. 3. The whole radio / nav unit is held in with 4 10mm bolts - you'll see them, two at the top and two at the bottom. Then it all comes out. Yell if you get stuck. The GS-2 DOES have the facility for the radio code - it'll be on the security menu if it is set. I suspect you'll find that you won't need to take any wires off the radio though in order to get your phone bracket out, so it may not be a problem anyways.
  20. Lexus do an RAC cover which is very cheap indeed. My and wifey covered for any car, home start, relay, Euro cover £70 squids a year. Also - did you know you can get 15% off in Little Chef if you show your RAc card?
