Apparantly they recalled the mats on the early IS models because of this. When I took mine in for a service they fitted new mats and told me why.
If its a courtesy car you'd think it would have the latest mats and be well fitted, but someone probably swapped them with their own or something.
Where were you stuck Jim?
Took me ages (about an hour) to get off the A1M and onto the A414 by Lexus Hatfield. I've spent 6 1/2 hours in the car today, just to do my 60 mile round trip to/from work.
The CLK is slower than the rest of the AMG 55 range. They couldn't fit the superchargers under the bonnet, so where as the E55, ML55, S55. SL55, CL55 all have the V8 5.5 litre with twin superchargers, the CLK does without!
I've driven over to, but did get lost trying to find it! They might have improved the sign posts now but other than that it was a very smooth journey, including the quick trip into Paris on the way home.
You'd have to be a pretty stupid driver to think that, the type that would probably just pull out without looking anyway, even without the lights coming on.
PIAA bulbs are available in the US. I've tried several bulbs trying to get as white as possible. Phillips blue vision wedge bulbs were still to yellow, then I tried PIAA Xtreme White which were too blue and didn't look right, then PIAA recommended Platinum White bulbs which are the whitest I've found.
I agree, they never 'flash'. Even when you go into a tunnel they take a while to switch back off when you come out of the other end so I don't see how it can be mistaken for a flash.
I have an underground car park at work and just love the way they switch on when I drive into it. I leave mine on auto all the time. Its always annoyed me that the dealer switches them off when its been serviced as I forget I have to switch them on.

Driven a 400BHP Jag S-Type R and that felt perfectly usable for normal driving, also been in a new Brabus tuned Mercedes E55 (530bhp) which also drove perfectly around town (and was amazing when floored) I guess its down to how well the car handles the power, how sensitive the throttle is etc.
Might be quickest to give them a call Chris as you'll know what your talking about more than me, but I can certainly pop in and ask anything, take pics of the wheels etc.
If your on your 4th handset in 5 weeks you can't really blame them for wanting to check it first? I know you know what your talking about Steve, but they probably get a lot of people that don't so after 4 phones want to check it.
