  1. I bought a second one having been assured that all build qaulity issues had been sorted..not so at all its no better at all! My new one is in at the moment for the dashout job I have made a complaint to lexus gb about it at least my local workshop is very good and honest !! Alan I still think the car is a brilliant car. It's just the interior build quality issues that are the problem.
  2. Complain like crazy what shocking and shoddy work the email for lexus gb customer service are steve.settle@lgb.lexus.co.uk gill.want@lgb.lexus.co.uk I think you should try to get a new car form them How old is the car? I had extensive work carried out for rattles at Woodford but the car was returned as new..but still with some little rattles Good luck alan I think I will be. Bought car mid January this year. 4,500 miles on the clock. Quiet as a mouse when I picked it up. Slowly got more and more rattly. What's the point in making a car thats so quiet inside if it's going to start ratlling, no matter how slight the rattles/creaks.
  3. I've had my IS250 back a couple of weeks from Lexus Tunbridge Wells, it was in for a squeaky seat, rattles and a loud click when you push your leg against the centre console. Squeaky seat is fixed. Click is fixed! Car rattles worse than ever from all over. Dash creaks from around the centre console Satnav/stereo area. Cover is missing from part where the rear view mirror is fixed to the window. Hoovered the carpets today and found 1) A screw. Found the empty hole middle top behind the glovebox door. 2) Driver seat. Cover on the righthand side where the seat is fixed to the floor is broken and just put back. Cover in the other side looks a bit stressed as well. Well I now wish I hadn't taken it in at all. No wonder it rattles like hell. I wonder how many broken clips etc there are inside the dash. Last week : Centre drivers side air vent slider control fell off. I have put it back but the clip doesnt seem to be tight enough to hold it in place. What should I do now? Take it back to Lexus Tunbridge Wells so they can bugger it up a bit more? Take it to another Lexus Dealer. Canterbury is similar distance. Contact Lexus GB? Really not impressed with the build of the interior. I have recently compared BMW,Volvo, Volkswagens which all feel much more solid and less creaky. I.e. grip the inside door handles and they creak. Thery don't do that in other cars. Also fob failed to open the car yesterday and I had to pull off the plastic cover and open with the key. Then the alarm wouldn't stop. So embarrassing! Took about 10 minutes before I could start the car. Scary. Starting to worry I have made a big mistake. Don't really think Lexus are any different to any other brand. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: ps Anyone got a contact for Lexus gb
  4. The passenger seat Alarm and disabling of the satnav controls whilst driving really annoys me.
  5. I have a recorded delivery letter that I wasn't expecting which I need to collect. I assume its for this. I have already had my seatbelt replaced. Hopefully were getting rid of some nanny features, not adding new ones. I also have a few other things i need looking at.
  6. I'm still very pleased with the car and the way it drives. Just the interior not built as well as I expected.
  7. I suppose it's only as good as the data fed into it. Garbage in/Garbage out What can be expected from a free service. I must add it's helped me out a couple of times!
  8. I have my IS250 back from the dealers after fixing a few rattles and squeaky seat. Squeaky seat is gone but not sure what they did. Didn't ask, just wanted my car back. Rattles were not completely gone and since the weather has warmed up dash is creaking, especially around the sat nav, rattle from either passenger side pillar or seat and centre right fan direction adjustment has fallen off. I have managed to put it back on but the clip is not catching correctly. Getting less and less impressed with the build quality. Door handles also creak if you grip them hard and section of door where window switches are and the centre console creak if you lean your leg against them. Centre consol also creaks when you open the ashtray. This does not happen on any Volvo's/BMW/Mercedes I have sat in. Engine also seems to have become slightly more noisy since weather has warmed up. The opposite of what I expected. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: I really don't want the hassle of taking it back to the dealer again and again. Why is it I have problems with every single thing I buy! Am i just being too picky?
  9. Anyone know what radio frequency is used by the fob/car?
  10. I recently had a loan IS250 SEL without MM for a week while mine was booked in for a squeaky seat. I really missed the MM. The standard sound system while not bad is leagues behind the Mark Levinson. I also really missed the reverse parking camera so I would say definitely go for the MM rather than the L.
  11. Try pressing the Door button in the roof to make sure. When off the footwell lights still come on but the main light doen't and the scuff plates dont light.
  12. There is a setting on my IS Push Disp then on the screen should be Day mode/Night Mode button
  13. There are realignment options in the engineer menu. Wouldn't know what to do with them though. I think you get into it by holding the a button and turning the lights on and off five times Can anyone confirm the exact method?
  14. I have the SE-L Auto MM. If I had to chose which options to lose and which to retain I would have to keep the MM, so I suggest you go for the SE with MM. Glad I don't have to make the choice! I pondered this for ages and in the end had to stump up the extra cash for the MM on top of the SEL (wnated the HIDs and memory seats). Glad I did
  15. Is the road noise any worse than any other car, or is it just so quiet in the cabin that the road noise sounds so much worse.
  16. My IS250 does the same. From a cold start the engine revs at approx 1500rpm, consequently when you engage drive or reverse the transmission will 'shunt' and the car will lurch slightly unless you have your foot firmly on the brake. The increased revs slowly reduce until the engine reaches working temp at which point the idle rpm is about 600. It has taken a bit of getting used to as my previous car (BMW 5) did not increase the revs regardless of engine temp. No problems with mine. Engine revs fairly high from start in P. but as soon as put in Drive with foot on the brake revs drop. No lurching.
  17. Err ,I don't think your cool weather in Brisbane is any different to our Summer in the UK. :P :P
  18. Just found it in the SatNav Manual pgs 93-100 Thanks
  19. It's booked in for next weekend. Unfortunately the squeak has become less regular. It seems to occur more on hilly roads. Also most of my rattles seem to have disappeared. It would seem they are more prevalant in the cold weather. Is it still worth me going to the dealers?
  20. Ignore at your own peril. Three weeks after getting my car I set a destination then decided to suspend guidance. Resumed guidance just as I was entering the long slip road to the A2 and arrrgh "Road ahead closed" :tsktsk: It was too late to come off and we sat for 45 minutes. (luckily it had only just happened.) Then had to take a detour through roads I do not know. Am so glad I got the MM. Moral of the story is always program your destination. Is there any way of finding out alerts without a destination programmed? i.e a round up of local alerts/A list on the screen. I would also like to say my IS250SEL has now done nearly 4,000 miles and I am more impressed with it every time I drive it. Mechanically It is one of the best cars I have ever owned. The engine is loosening a bit and feels much smoother. (Not that it wasn't smooth in the first place.) :D
  21. I'm taking mine in to Lexus Tunbridge Wells for a squeaky seat and a few rattles on 20th May. I'll let you know how I get on. I'm sure someone else on here has posted re a squeaky seat before and they got a brand new one.
  22. Probably ran out of diesel Or it was more economical to tow it... Now you've got me gaffing about my pride and joy.... :duh: I see at least one now on each motorway journey, so they're getting more common... 1 new Lexus for 50 Beemer 3 series.... Seriously probably the seat belt jam problem. I had to get mine towed taken back to the dealer as it was illegal to drive and I wasn't going to risk it.
  23. I would assume this has a negative effect on fuel consumption. What kind of mpg are you getting
  24. I have my volume control set to 40, what's road noise ? :D I now have a very creaky drivers seat at 3000 miles and rattles from around the dash/centre console and under the steering wheel. I will be contacting my dealer shortly to get this all fixed as it is starting to annoy me. I still love the car and mechanically it is superb. I noticed another nanny thing easter weekend. Low Washer Fluid Warning. Why does it need to tell you constantly!!! Has anyone managed to disable any of the nanny features on the UK model?
  25. The New IS 250 has built in rattles. Some from the dash, some from the side pillars. sorry couldn't help myself
