  1. I've seen lots of posts from people who bought from Miguel. All been very pleased with their cars ... I gather he'll phone from the auctions to let you know if he finds an ideal car for you .... So when the phone rings at 5am, guess who :)
  2. The tunnel is meant to crumple - part of the design. To brace it makes the car more dangerous. A reputable repairer WOULD NOT entertain this as an option. And i think an 'engineer' ( clearly a term used in it's loosest sense ) suggesting this should be struck off !!
  3. A mate of mine has a repair shop ... He hates direct line and their aliases (tesco, privilege etc). Their so called 'engineers' are always trying to screw him down on repair hours / rates, encourage him to use 2nd hand or non genuine parts etc. In fact any trick in the book to reduce the repair cost. AND they drag out paying for the work too .... What a bunch of complete *********
  4. I don't suppose anyone is too concerned but .... If you use these 'handy' remote / auto start features while your car is on a public highway, you're breaking the law
  5. Mark. Looks like someone has hacked your username .... They're posting about an outrageous IS200 project. I bet it's Mat playing silly billy's
  6. Mark ... They are no good :P There - that's killed that one :D I was very tempted too but if you sit and watch them for a while, the picture just ain't as good as on a conventional tube. Plumped for a 32" widescreen Loewe TV instead - delivered last Saturday. I wanted a black tv - can't be doing with all this cheap looking 70's style silver junk Have you thought about going the whole hog and getting a projector
  7. I found a rather spindly arachnid in the bath this morning .... And swatted several mozzies over the weekend too ... Can't quite fathom why you'd want to know that but ... whatever floats your boat :P
  8. Huh ?? Bigger tyres on front than rear ? Odd ..... :?:
  9. Oh yes - forgot to say ... If any man gets close to winning ... or even just understanding the rules .... Then the rules are automatically changed without any notice Or any indication about what the new rules are Strange beasts - i really can't work 'em out
  10. Yes that makes sense .... Bombard with chocolate so you can say yes to ... 'Do i look fat in this' No doubt resulting sulk would include comfort eating .... So full circle - self perpetuating ... Face it guys - it's a lose lose situation. We're just NEVER gonna win this one :?:
  11. So does this amount to an admission that the previous paint was sub standard ? Could be good grounds for lots of front end warranty repaints !!
  12. I can honestly say i don't think i ever watched it ... STILL !! If i see a copy, i'll grab it ... At least then i'll know what Raj is on about ... when he talks about the motorcycling 'Goose' !! I remember a 'Goose' in Top Gun .. And i'm sure i heard the name mentioned in Pearl Harbour too ... Get about don't i
  13. I think these are fitted as standard to the 'IS200 executive' model. It's available right across europe - except UK ....
  14. Welcome to the club and congratulations on your new car ... First thing to do is sign up for 'Gold' membership. Believe me, 25quid shelled out for 'Gold' will more than pay for itself in discounts if you're buying stuff. Worth noting that your car will get a bit more 'oomphy' once it's done a few thousand miles .... noticeably so. For a big power hike, you need a supercharger - obviously :) But that's about 4k once fitted so may be out for now. Exhaust is always a good starting place and HKS is a popular choice here. Also look at Peco - reasonably priced and looks nicer than the crap i remember peco used to produce years ago. TTE, Remus and others also do IS exhausts ... Then there's filters, plugs etc which may provide small gains. Nothing much in the intake department yet. You might wanna have a chat with TDi in Barking. I'm sure Mark will give you some tips on a good order to approach things. Good luck - have fun
  15. Oooohhh - handbags ... hairs and splitting spring to mind :P Ahh - ok then ... Mine's the ONE and ONLY .... "Danish supplied, UK spec with TDi supplied compressor fitted at TTE" There must be room for 'Official' in there too somewhere  Wonder if i should get that on a sticker
  16. I just found a copy of the mag ... Good stuff ... "Only UK spec car supercharged by TTE" MY AR5E :o Maybe i just dreamt i was there :P
  17. I see a deranged man - the puppet of his generals - quite obviously a megalomaniac. He hoards a huge arsenal of the worlds nastiest destructive weapons. He seems hell bent on war regardless of anyone else's views or the consequences for his people. Well, that's the US president covered, so who's this other bloke
  18. Those wheels are VERY VERY heavy ... Think you need a supercharger just to turn the damn things :) Look nice on though i seem to remember ...
  19. Am i missing the plot here ?? My mesh grille came with the 'L' and 'Sport' logo's already on it ... I replaced the mesh with a different kind (smaller holes) last weekend. Partly to do away with the badges and partly to better hide my hooters etc ... Oo err :)
  20. I had that done to my IS at the 10k service. Added 25quid + vat to the cost of the service. They used a 'Bear' machine and gave me the printout of angles before + after and what they should be. So yes - that DOES sound expensive.
  21. Your mesh grille should have a small plate with 2 holes to take the 'sport' logo. The logo has 2 sticky out bits on the back which go through the holes, then secured with spring washers onto the sticky out bits from behind. The 'L' is similar - prongs poke through the grille, a small 'L' acts as a washer on the back and all secured with spring clips. Hope that helps.
  22. I think not using Lexus paint would be a GOOD thing - it's sh!te  Maybe something else would be more durable :)
  23. And then you find you've only got 100mv to play with when you were expecting at least 10 times this :D Also be careful if you have satnav. In standard form, output from amp passes through satnav ecu .... Careful not to melt it with the increased power.
  24. No you're not - i read it too, more than once Must be a genetic thing :P
  25. Yes Mat - go for that bonnet ornament
