  1. Displaying TTE plates on a public highway You naughty naughty boy .... What me officer :P 'Cooler - Ives .......'
  2. And make sure whoever fits them does final tightening of nuts and bolts with the car resting on it's wheels... ie NOT with the suspension dangling while the car is on a hoist. Otherwise your bushes will be stressed and shred prematurely. Just a small common sense point which so many so called 'professional' garages choose to 'overlook'
  3. Heard about that - nasty ... Shoulda gone Harwich Hook :) Miss out london area altogether ....
  4. Gander ?? Huh ?? Somebody call :D Yes - put this eastern region imposter on the list ...
  5. Ipswich dealer asks you to sign a disclaimer stating you have fully comp cover for their car and imdemnify them for everything ... before they'll let you take it. Think i get 3 days of cover for this kind of thing from my insurers before they charge. This dealer lost the franchise now so maybe the new one will be more 'customer focussed' when they take over in October :D
  6. I expect Gordon has a MOON roof :o Rich - if you don't feel the drag from your a/c in the IS, i think it must be broken :)
  7. Would you believe i'm already booked that day - off work and everything I'll take some brownie points for buying raffle tickets though :D
  8. Not wishing to endorse the use of crap supermarket fuel ... I wouldn't use it if it was free :D BUT, Safeway do a similar thing to Sainsbury but with up to 20p off per litre :o
  9. Jojo Coggeshall ... just down the road then. I was only over that way a couple of weekends ago too (@ freeport) ... Some nice roads between you and Sudbury - good for a supercharged blast U2U me or something when you're ready and we'll sort something ... BTW - which dealer you seeing - Ipswich or Hadleigh ? Seeya TG
  10. I recently put springs from a sport on my SE. In terms of ride comfort, there's very little in it. Now slightly less 'rolly' round the bends. As for colour ... A dark colour will always take more effort in the keeping clean department. Welcome on board ...
  11. JoJo If you'd like to try a supercharged IS200, Mine's local ...
  12. As Mark mentioned, these are 'rev2' kits - latest spec is 'rev4' Differences as follows ... 1) Compressor bypass spring replaced by a 'mousetrap' type spring mechanism. Cost is next to nothing. 2) Original (black box) sub-ecu intercepts MAP sensor signal before it reaches standard ecu. In addition, the later one (silver box) prevents fuel cut at rev limit to help the pre-cat's stay intact. Note that pre-cat failure has been a problem on non-supercharged cars too !! Retail cost of the new sub-ecu is around 600euro + vat In normal use, the original sub-ecu should be ok ... but if you rag the nuts off your car regularly you might wanna consider the later one. 2500ukp +vat represents a saving of about 1200ukp +vat on the current list price :o Tony
  13. My thanks too for the hard graft put in to this event - a landmark weekend indeed. Our pitch was without doubt the star of the show - wot with Lexus support vehicle etc Also a special shout out to Chris (aka Sporties Son) who tirelessly watered the VERY dusty track in front of our pitch over and over and over on Sunday to keep it on the ground and off the cars ... pretty successfully in the end. Damn that dust on Saturday :( Now my head is red and sore .... Strange - don't remember sharing a tent with Mat or Zee :o Good to meet everyone and thanks again to all those involved. L8r all. Tony Goose mobile brewery + tool hire service :)
  14. The IS200 Sport springs were changed in the 2001 model year - lower by 15mm. I put shox + springs from a 2002 sport on my 2001 SE last week. Shox are the same part number, springs were visibly slightly different. Definitely an improvement to be had there !! I made some notes which i'll compile in to a brief handy hints how to at some point. Job took just over 3 hours but if i had to do it again, could knock about an hour off that.
  15. Very old hoax pictures. I think it's pretty common knowledge now that there's NO further development work planned for the current platform.
  16. What - Gord's not coming :o Arse - i better send half the beer back
  17. Now if they painted the IS properly in the first place ... wouldn't need it :D
  18. Steve would invite them back to his Barge
  19. Why just friday ? We go whenever the fancy takes us :) Today we were on the 2nd floor balcony doing lunch overlooking the sea .... Imagine our horror at seeing a very pleasant (and obviously extremely intelligent) young lady topless sunbathing on the beach :o Disgraceful - this is Felixstowe, that kind of thing just doesn't happen here .. I must pen a letter to the council and complain :P Naturally the balcony was filled to capacity in no time :D What a pleasant day Just a shame the male populous had to act in such a juvenile and sexist fashion ... Naturally i took no part in it
  20. Yes Steve they are ..... And as i discovered, Licence UNFRIENDLY :(
  21. One for Subaru anoraks ... 22B is hexadecimal for 555
  22. What sadistic person made dyslexia so difficult to spell :?: Sing along now ..... Old MacDonald had dyslexia .... E I J Q P
  23. Why is there only one monopolies commission ??
  24. I've seen those chrome fog light rings in the German Lexus accessories catalogue. Also the chrome strip for above the no. plate - the bit covering the boot lock + no. plate lamps. Maybe one of our German based members could put you in touch with a friendly dealer ?
  25. Ooh - VBH, I met her too ... Came to see my CRX, and took me for a drive in it :o That was prior to it displaying an 'R' sticker proudly on it's rump. She did a little article for the 'Readers Wives' section of MaxyP. Err - that was in the early days before it turned into a porn mag  Sammy, I'll stick a cheque in the post tomorrow for a fivers worth of tickets. Sending some Honda related stuff too for you to make use of as you see fit ... One NSX item you might want to keep for yourself
