  1. Thanks - I'll try that if the Polargs are no good.
  2. The one in the RX300 does (I had one as a courtesy car) so I guess we can expect that the next model IS will do too.
  3. Thanks fluff! (Not sure about the brighter bit though - I'll see what these new bulbs are like...)
  4. The first MOT is due in January. The lighting regs specify that rear fog lights must be red and have an approval mark. Mine are pink at the moment. I'm just experimenting etc to get a red bulb/led. According to posts on is300.net "Polarg M series" bulbs give a good red colour. The lights don't have an approval mark but I'm hoping that if they light up red then that will be good enough to pass an MOT. They're not that bright as the coloured bulb reduces the light but the regs don't specify brightness. If it fails then I'll refit the old lights. I'm not sure about swapping them back again afterwards as we're meant to obey the ruling authorities (Romans 13).
  5. I'm going to go with "Invicible Warrior Charriot of Tharg"
  6. A now redundant colleague had an IS200 the same colour as mine as a company car. Soon after he'd got it he walked up to mine and was furiously pressing all the buttons on his key to no avail. Mean-while his car sat with boot open and lights flashing. :D
  7. My S boot lid pops all the way too. Perhaps there's some way of adjusting the spring....? :?:
  8. I had the traction control and abs warning lights come on once. I'd been throwing the car around a bit so I thought a sensor wire or something must have worked loose but after I restarted the engine it was fine and has never happened again. I guess it was just the car commenting on my driving....
  9. Hi nattrass. Welcome to the site. I'm in Reading too. On the ChipsAway web-site they mention a partnership with Halfords so I phoned the Oxford Road branch as I've picked up some damage. (Bad parker hit rear right corner, motorbike scrapped front left corner weaving between traffic, car in-front threw up metal rod from road which bounced up the bonnet of my car ) Halfords said the partnership never happened and gave me the number of the local franchise guy - 0118 9664729. I've not tried them yet as I can't afford it and I'm waiting to see how the claim goes with the motorbike's insurance.
  10. Perhaps the salesman told her it was quicker and knew she'd believe it being a wo...ah ahem...... :D
  11. I tried the lexus on just a small slope in the snow and it really struggled (rear wheel drive). The snow button seemed to be there just to give me something to do while the car was sliding sideways - it made no difference. But it's a great car and if there's only snow one day a year and like me your off work that day then its not such a problem.
  12. I got the S so that I could get a slightly newer car with less miles for my money. Its seems to roll a little more on cornering compared to an SE courtesy car I had. Perhaps that was just that the suspension hadn't worn in yet on the SE or they've changed it slightly since mine was built - it's a Jan 2000. I don't miss any of the SE toys just the larger alloys. The ones on the S do seem to stay cleaner longer being less open but if I was buying again now I'd get an SE. If I keep mine a while then I might just stick some different alloys on.
  13. 30-35mpg! :o I get 25-27mpg :( (but I drive like a nutter down the M4 in the rush hour )
  14. alcholic - southern comfort and lemonade, or sol (or occasionally blue bols, advocat and lemonade - fizzy creamy green drink - yum) non-alcholic - coke and orange juice (yes in the same glass - its called a muddy puddle)
  15. Has anyone had their IS200 MOT'd yet with clear rear fog lights in place?
  16. Hey - I'm not far off - I've only got 16" :(
  17. I followed a beemer the other day on lots of winding country lanes when the M4 was blocked - I bottled out at one point though - I joined a queue of traffic and left him to bully his way in at the very last point where two lanes merged
  18. I'm glad it went well. P'raps I'll make it next year...
  19. At the moment the action is at JAE - the Japanese Auto Event? (or something like that?) So things is a bit quiet as most the club seem to be there.... :(
  20. S'funny kinda quiet round here... anyone would think there's a meet going on or something... :wow:
  21. The brakes are so good - saved me from going into the back of a jag that pulled in front of me on the M4 today. S'posed to be better than a porche carrera's brakes.
  22. I guess the weight is down to the solid bodywork and old cast-iron engine block...
