  1. Wow that's a pretty good deal. I'll remember that for the next time I fly...
  2. bait taken.... Most lexus drivers I see on the M4 seem to pootle along quite sedately (even IS drivers). I must admit there was an exception on Monday - I moved over to let a GS fly past at about mach 1. :wow: It was black with gold badges (and a hint of red shift) in case it was anyone here. I don't think he saw my club sticker, or even the car?!
  3. Prob too late now but... If I wasn't on hols I'd give you a lift - I work in Slough - not far from Heathrow and live in Reading. Sorry I don't know what the alternatives are like - I've never tried them. You can probably do OK by train - tube from heathrow to paddington then out to reading by thames trains (done 2nd bit - ok). Inwards to paddington with tube is £23.60 or there-abouts for return ticket not sure about the heathrow bit.
  4. The picture I posted looked really good 'cause it wasn't my work - that's someone elses car! I used 2 coats smoothrite, applied stickers and then 2 coats lacquer. Wish I'd done 4 coats lacquer like rodders though - just to be extra cautious.
  5. I saw a blue IS in-front down the Bath Road one day and thought - that must be claire. I drove "progressively" and caught up so I could wave madly but it definitely wasn't you - it was a bloke driving.
  6. I used a tyre place for wheel alignment but they couldn't fix the castor angle as it is not adjustable. Lexus fixed the problem with new shocks under warranty but also said the alignment target settings/ranges on the print-out from the tyre place were wrong! The ones on the lexus print-out were different/correct so you're right not to trust non-lexus!
  7. I leave the left and middle lanes for GS drivers.... :D
  8. The sensors might me in the central light thingy - when I wash the car without switching off the motion detector things get loud when I wash the center of the roof!
  9. Here's the silver/red/silver combo... http://www.geocities.com/lunatikz808/SILVE...REDCALIPER1.jpg Sorry couldn't find silver/red/white. Very happy - I used smoothrite - two coats applied with a brush. Easy to do as long as you use plenty of masking tape for the clips, screws, pipes etc. I did get a few tiny holes from bubbles or something probably cause I didn't leave it long enough between coats and applied it too thick. But you don't see these from a distance. I've an S with the 16 inch wheels so the red calipers help make up for the small wheel size and make it look a bit more sporty.
  10. I've a silver lexus with red calipers and silver stickers and I'll take some photos...but I don't have a digitial camera so it'll be a while before I finish the film, get it developed and scanned in....
  11. OK - I'm a possible - depending on other commitments.
  12. My daughter loves the drinks holders for the rear passengers! (She's easily pleased mind you she has good taste - she'd like a convertible like the SC430.)
  13. ...and if you were the driver of the black IS parked outside Argos then please let me know - I'd just like to know of one business card that had a result.... :bounce: As for the rest of Eastbourne - the circus was cool but the seagulls - eurgh - someone get me a bucket and sponge...
  14. Have you considered trying ChipsAway? I haven't yet. I've heard good and bad reports about them.
  15. I think so - I'm pretty sure I signed a similar type of form for the test drive.
  16. Reading charge nothing! (Although the excess on their insurance policy is a bit high - £500 I think - so it pays to be careful.)
  17. None taken - I just thought it was funny! :bounce: Hope you enjoy your time away from all those nasty spectacular mountains, lochs and empty winding roads....errr...
  18. Hi djanderso Reading is no-where near London - it's about 40 miles away - it's like calling Glasgow "Edinburgh"! Anyway don't worry - I live in Reading and I've had no problems with car (or any other) crime. :) (I used to live in a low risk insurance area up north - in Hull and had my car broken into twice and vandalised twice and flat broken into! )
  19. If I had access to an IS with a supercharger then I think I'd want to take it for a long drive... :D
  20. I'm confused - what's the weight of the car itself - the gross weight or the kerb weight? :?: :?:
  21. We've been warned about the problems on the bath road for a while. Now I drive with the doors locked.
  22. This morning I saw 3 Graphite Sky IS200s eastbound on the M4 between Reading and Slough. Any of you guys here?
  23. I've got some APC LED "bulbs" and they're clear leds that give out a red light so they end up being pink again. Like others have said they are more directional and because of the angle they enter the lamp they end up giving much less light. I did try melting and bending them with a soldering iron to get a better angle but without much success as it's difficult to bend them just right. I've given up now.
  24. This morning there was an accident on the west bound M4 between something like a puma/tigra type car (before it became a crumpled heap) and....yes you guessed it a bmw. Wonder who's fault it was... Mind you the beemer seemed to be pretty much in-tact. Guess it pays to get a luxury car.
