  1. Hi all I am back from hols in Florida, average of 94deg, lots of fun, my kids couldnt believe it all.
  2. TRD are developing a lightweight flywheel for IS200, I am led to beleive that this will improve acceleration in 1st 2nd gear but you will pay for this in the higher gears by reducingtop end performance slightly, can anyone confirm this?
  3. i. Put helium in your tyres ii. inhale helium and fill car with it iii. You will be laughing that much you will induce a hyper fast spin( theres your speed)
  4. Hi all, just an idea, but if anyone has a direct e-mail address for Lexus GB then if you post it we can all send an e-mail each day. Poeple power is hard to beat and when they realise the number of complaints and the potential threat to there business they may take stock and help us out, we should also continually hasle them about the ease in which the car body work chips.
  5. I came across a site that does carbon fibre pedals for the car, I will try and find it and post a link.
  6. scratches, try t-cut metalic it is pretty gentle on body work, then polish the area 2 times it should bring such a shine that you can only see scratches from certain angles. Try using wonder wax, I have just switched from using auto-glym and the results are better. Take polish off with terry towling nappies( not used ones though:D) they are nice and gentle.
  7. I am never ever normal, too many years playing in open fields with guns, living on nothing but a sense of humour to feed my soul. wibble:smilegrin:

  9. Hi, have been thinking about bringing myself up to the standard of my classy car, what what what, so from now on when I am on the Club Web site I wear a tweed smoking jacket with my new trusty jack russel( who loves cats) on my lap. I have enroled on a English Language class becuase I may need electrocution lessons,I mean no one is inflammable are they. I tried some Russian caviar on toast for breakfast but too many people asked if I was herring a bad day and told me to cod off. Serious question now though for all, with regards to time travel, is it in theory possible or is the belief that when time has past it fractures to nothing therefore we cannot go back, like wise the future has not happened yet so how can it be viewed. The subject interests me because some specialists think that if we are being visited the ALF's are moving in communities(generations) or time travelling. Also who likes the X files:D
  10. get grenstuff from http://www.fensport.co.uk
  11. I can see were you are all coming from, yes the club is growing, but look at it like this, if someone knocks on your door it is nice to make them feel welcome. We get a large number of veiwings world-wide( mainly US/Asia, so isnt it good manners to allocate them a forum. To me this simly say's welcome we know you are there join the club. It all helps to make our UK club bigger and better.
  12. put out some cat food laced with hot chili peppers/rat poisen/mercury/lots of sleeping pills and anything else you can think out, they will lose there mind, get sleepy,***** themselves then die. Have the same problem with them, wish I could just assasinate them but I have to resort to covering car up, will go and one of these sound things though.
  13. I swapped boots with tony goose, he got mine with lip spoiler and I had his, it was easy then to have spoiler fitted.

  17. Yes the 2002 sport is 15mm lower than other IS's, if you put TTE springs on then it will be 30mm lower than standard car only. TTE are pricey, have a look at Eibach Pro Kit, Mat and I have them, about £140 a set. Then about £150 to fit align then re-align after 500 miles.
  18. Ive met the Queen, Phil the greek(her hubby) in fact had to give orders in front of him on board HMS Fearless, Have done protection for lots of F1 Drivers, in fact I refused entry to johnny herbert and pedro diniz( they are so small, thought it was the attack of the munchkins. 21. Hi all, there is some contreversy over octane boost. I was told to use it aswell as Optimax. Put Nitrous Formula in today 2ml per litre of optimax, did not do any 0-60 because of traffic, but I am sure it has lowered the point were the supercharger kicks in, usaully kicks in hard when you have put the throttle half way down, today was kicking in hard sooner and seemed to have perked things up. My fuel rating was about 100-101. Have looked at 3 different graphs and they all show a straighter acceleration curve and torque curve with upto 20bhp increase. Also they showed peak BHP coming in at slightly lower RPM. The other benefits seem to be anti-corrosion, lubrication and a power increase. Seems to be relevant for japanese vehicles. Our cars would sense things and improve themselves. Just what I have researched and numerours independant tuners cant all be wrong. I was told to use it by TDi along with optimax. It may not improve 0-60 much becuase I cant shift gears any quicker but the instant pick up is better. Apart from all the above it is protection for the engine. 22. Following extensive development with one of Motorsports leading luminaries Silkolene, we are proud to offer this fantastic product suitable for all engines. Silkolene Pro boost will effectively raise the RON value of standard 95 RON fuel up to 97-98 and takes Super Unleaded up to a phenomenal 100-101 RON. By running any high performance engine on what essentially is a higher grade of fuel obviously allows the adaptive engine management systems to "read" the higher octane value and make upward performance adjustments to suit. A few other key benefits are as follows.. Compatible with all petrols Promotes clean combustion chambers, valve seats and injectors. Fully compatible with all catalytic converters. (NOTE!!! this is not the case with all additives). Does not attack hoses or filters. Combats pinking and pre-ignition Suitable for all high compression two and four stroke engines. Removes harmful engine deposits. Reduces upper cylinder wear. Combats corrosion. The graphs below show Pro Boost in action. The control vehicle was an absolutely standard Subaru Impreza 2000 Model Turbo. Sole breathing modifications were Group A downpipe and a Stainless steel back box. The graphs show both before and after the Pro Boost were added. Immediately obvious is the way that Pro Boost gives a beautifully linear BHP trace over the peaky standard mapping. Control Vehicle With PRO BOOST Even more impressive is how Pro Boost dramatically shifts the shape of the torque curve to an ideal, almost perfectly flat profile. Control Vehicle With PRO BOOST Not only does it add in instant "kick" to any high performance vehicle but Pro Boost allows certain Japanese specification cars to be running on the correct settings as designed by the Factory (i.e.. 100 RON). Also it allows the driver of other cars to selectively add torque and BHP to suit driving demands..(trackday, Sunday morning etc.)
  23. Test drive the Tom's 280T this weekend. altezzaR .NET Newbie Joined: Nov 22, 2000 Posts: 81 Posted: 2001-01-07 21:26 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hi just want to share my drive on the 280T this weekend. well first experience on the car, well the sparco seats were non adjustable, they felt awfully tight . can't imagine sitting through a long traffic jam. the gear lever had a shorter through than the normal box, must be a short shift kit. the clutch had a dry plate system, when you press the clutch pedal to the floor you would here this "bzzzzzzzzzzz" sound. the dealer took me for a drive, at low revs the car felt just like my altezza. for 5 mins i was wondering what was the fuss, seemed just like my car. then we got onto a highway, we still drove slowly to see were there any police, then on our return trip he switched off the aircon and pressed the accelerator. WOW, the car was fast. i felt my back being pushed to the back seat. the revs were just rising sooooo. fast. seem like a honda vtec. you can feel the boost at around 3500 revs and they shoot up quickly from there. below 3500 it just feels like a normal altezza. he pushed on third gear and in no time we were doing 180kmh. we could still go faster but to be safe we slowed down. the car was fast, felt like 70% on the Gtr i sat in a week ago. but on the gtr i could feel the mass but on this car i could feel the agility. the exhast note was even quieter than my car. when i got out of the car i had a good look at the exhaust . seems like a group n style. wasn't stainless steel but titanium. the exhast was quiet not like my car time for my try, when i got in the drivers seat the dealer told me remember to blip the throttle more than normal on the first gear. he said because of the special clutch and flywheel that was the best way to start the car. So i press the clutch blip the throttle and into first gear and go..the car stalled. i started again and it still stalled. i must say this car has a very sensitive throttle. it was till my third attempt that the car drove off. took some time to adjsut but was ok afterwards. in my mind then i was thinking about "altezza's " comment about the oxygen sensor problem rather than the clutch problem. first gear i went to around 7000rpm, boy was it fast. if my car was doing around 8.00sec for 0-100 then this car must be in the 6 or just under 6. through to second gear and i could hear alittle "back fire pop sound" from the exhaust may be because of the turbo. by then i have passed 100km . revs were alot faster than my AT maybe because of the MT trans. but the dealer told me it is because of the light flywheel. it was a blast, the turbo has just transformed the car. great fun. i will not be scared of EOV 5/6's and STI's if i drove this car on the streets. I will be eating type r's for breakfast. for the suspension i realised the the car was alittle stiffer than my. to my contray i always thought the advox was softer than my tanabe's but they felt alot stiffer. may be partly due to the very thinly padded sparco seats. the car was on standard roll bars ( i was surpised tom's didn't change it). after getting out from the car i inspected the brakes and was further suprised that this uprated model was on normal pads and non braided brake lines. don't 280T come with better brake options. well overall i must say that this car is a great car apart from the first gear stalling problem. is there any way to solve this problem. because its hard to imagine to control the car going slowly forward in a traffic jam, parking or moving over a speed bump slowly. the body kit with the special speedline 3piece alloys just make it one of a kind. though it seems to be quiet difficult to justify the extre cost. I am still considering
