  1. I had exactly the same, it was cracking for 3-5minutes and then stopped suddendly. And it appeared only when direct sun headed on the car. Now its fine, dissapeared by itself... Sometimes I think that my car lives its own life :winky:
  2. let's use statistics from the spritmonitor.de IS250 9,32l/100km = £2091,85 IS20d 7,55/100km = £1897,53 difference of £194 IF the price of both models was same here, it is clear it is not worth to buy the diesel, but here is the 220d 4.000 euros cheaper. And you won't sell the petrol for more than the diesel.
  3. 37-39 @2200miles seems OK to me. with 5th injector it can only improve or stay the same. You'll see. the consumption will be improving till app 10.000miles.
  4. you have thule tow bar for 170? you are lucky guy. I asked lexus for tow bar, they said - 1000euros. I called aftermarket seller - he has only one towbar for IS220d - brink (toyota uses brink too) price? 700 euros! :( the problem is with the police. In the documents to the car is written, I can use only brink towbar. damn. could you please post pics how does look like your towbar? tha
  5. I have. I bought the bars from lexus as the price was almost the same if buing aftermarket. The box I bought the thule spirit, because it is the most aerodynamic box I found. The noise is increased but the consumption went up only by app. 0,5l/100km, so I am very satisfied. http://images.google.sk/images?hl=sk&q...1zkov&gbv=2 I must say the car is perfect with the box, very stable in turns even when loaded.
  6. sorry anyway try to search, there must be an adjustment possibility
  7. adjust the headlamps by yourself, but be carefull to not set it too high http://www.infoarena.com/lexus/headlights/
  8. my before last tank averaged 6,52 (43,3mpg) which is again lowest since october 07. My last tank is interesting, as I had to do quick 320km return trip to go for my father (unforunately he smashed his uninsured e-class) On the way there I went 70kph in urban areas, 100 extraurban and at highway and speedway (total app. 120km) the full throttle - btw it goes quite nicely till 180kph (113mph), to 210 (130mph) it goes slowly - I am not sure if I would hit the manufacturer indicated maximum. At 180kph the consumption is 9.3 (30mpg) - I find this OK. The total average was 104kph and 7,2l/100km (65mph and 39.2mpg) - I think the consumption is OK. Now interesting - on the way back I let my father to drive. Normally he drives his e400cdi automatic, so he is not used to manual. He tend to forgot to change the gears :) 120kph (75mph) on 3rd and 145 (90mph) on 5th were quite usual :) He drove differently - on the higway he went only 145kph but extra urban 100-130kph (60-80mph) His average at the end was 124kph (!!) and 6,9 (41mpg) - I find this fantastic, because he is not used to this car at all and 41mpg is good number for such a conditions.
  9. well, for such a comparison you don't need to go that far. Just look at the prices in the US.
  10. yes, I am pretty sure I drive different than you - faster, because our speed limit in city is 60kph and police tolerates +10kph, so I drive 70kph in the city, 100kph country roads and 140kph on the highway
  11. press the small cap in the middle. Then just take it out (no turning)
  12. As I mentioned last month I went through the recall process. Got the new 5th injector - although I've never had a problem or limp mode, and the consumption was very good. As first I've noticed change in the idling. I am still not sure how exactly it is now, but my observation is: it still idles at 1100 till the operation temperature is reached, however if I stop the car, for example for 2 hours, the temperature decreases to 1/5, but now it idles all the time at 800 - even when the operation temperature is not reached. Second observation is the consumption. I know it is too soon to have final verdict after one tank, but I have mention that. This tank I was driving in the city more than ever. Usually I drive (urban-extra urban-higway) 20%-40%-40%, but this time it was 40-50-10. Already the BC indicated optimistic number (6,8l/100km;41,5mpg) - I expected worse numbers after so much of urban driving. To my surprise, after refuelling and real calculation the consumption is 6,56l/100km (43mpg) - my best consumption since september 2007!
  13. rgd the colors - dark color suits every limousine better. Also all chrome is clearly visible and the rims. On the other hand, as others say - hard to keep clean and forget carwash. I wouldn't buy silver or white because then it is quite a must to buy black rims.
  14. I bought the thule spirit - most areodynamic shape and the consumption rises only about 0,5l/100km
  15. If I get a chance I will. you are right probably, but again - if I had money to buy and feed the A4 3.0 TDI, I'd rather stick to 3,2 V6 petrol and that's again a different story :)
  16. well, if this wouldn't show up after more than 2 years of development and couple of grand more in comparison with the IS, it would be very bad for audi :)
  17. Today I just looked on pricing of the c-klass. The 200kompressor with 185hp would cost in same equipment as my IS about 2.700 euros more - this surprised me, because when I was buying the IS the difference was about 9.000 euros. I recently sat in the new C and it was a pleasant surprise. Everyone's telling that the interior is ****ty but in my eyes it looked fine. I'd be seriously considering the merc if I was buying today, specially when here is the basic servicing for free (160.000kms or 6 years) and you can extend the warranty (for about 400 euros) till 4 years and 160.000kms
