IS chigz200

Hi, I just test drove the IS250(SE-L with MM) and 220d(SE) today, the dealer was more excited about me comparing the two then i was! Was given the 250 to take away for a few hours!! I lovvveed it, takes my current IS to next level. I have to say I did not find such a difference with accelerating compared to the 200, but may be that’s just me!! But otherwise was amazing. so many gadgets, the MM system is just soo good, its great... so many functions! I personally can’t imagine the car with out it, it’s just so practical and contributes to the car so well. The 220d did not have the MM, The drive on 220d was very good, having not driven a manual for a while, I was loving it!! have to agree with most of the other posts, its not noisy....well u can hear it 1st gear, and if your standing outside if the engine is running. The 220 accelerates well. I recently drove a 5G golf TDi, and that was noisy and crackly!! IS good in comparison. I want a IS250SE-L with MM (have to have the xenons, mem seats ect). The dealer had left a Michael Jackson DVD in the car, my m8 tried it out and the quality was really good. I cant wait to get one! :D :D

I use to have a VW bora before i got my is and that had folding seats, was such a handy feature. I hope the new Is has this! I really like it, yea looks bit GS and like its aimed more at luxury then the last one was (not that i dont love the current one) it looks GOOD.. i want one.. lol love the back. NEed more pics in diffrent colours lol :D

I really like the one shown in the Japan mag, even if the light do look bit mazda.. they still look more IS and more sporty!! I really hope its that one and not the Uk car mag one, which looks so GS and not sporty like the current one! :D Fingers crossed! Y is 1st march taking soo long.. lol :duh: Lexus better offer total crome trim on the interior ..wood and metal 2ghter looks soo bad!

Auto Express Pics..!!!

The picture shown in Auto Express is nothing like the yellow one! It looks a lil like the LF-C (Front). I still think this is a Photoshop image but it looks good. If this is the new IS.. then BMW have some serious competition ( not sure about the door mounted mirrors tho). The lights don’t look at all like the mazda!! :D

hmmm i think i should stop reading from differnet sources! was reading a magazine at lunch time and it said is200 was due in late 2005! and was the first Lexus model to have a deisel (220d).

HEy guys, its been ages since i posted a topic!!! Someone is selling 2 blue mesh grills on ebay, I wana bid for one seems good. Not sure if it would match my car tho, i have a Royal Sapphire IS!! I emailed the seller asking him what colour the grill was Royal Sapphire or Strathcaron blue! The guy said he was told my lexus it would match both colours!! somehow im not convienced!! the part number is: 01600-00051-J0 Does anyone knw if it would match Royal sapphire ?? THX :)

Agree with most of u! Better dash is somethin deffo needed!! and rest as u say ..trip computer, steering controls, xenons, and duel zone climate control a must!! :) how about more int trim options and more collours on the leather! B)

Likes: the fact its a sexi lexus :D shape Security Standard equipment Wheels seats Dislikes: HID not an option on 200. Dash Trim option - should have much more! The interior Dash - should b more better build ie for the cream int..should have cream dash not black(looks well nice on mercs -sorry had 2 say it) No on board computer. Elcetric seats with memory(can b handy if more then one person drives same car) whatever...still lov the IS! :)

Hey guys, On saturday my car was a well dirty!! thought would wash the the headlights using the washer..as u would! But nothing happened!! :( Soo tried a few time..but no luck. Is it me..or something wrong with them? I thought may b water reserve is empty, but the screen wash works fine. Is the water reserve the same for both windscreen and headlight washer? Thx guyz!!

Mate ..If its playing up, just take it your lex dealer...mine did that ..just the once..and they changed the unit, no questions asked. Good luck with it :)

Actually the tax was only £11ish , but they charge Parcel force clearance charges!!1 £13!!! I thought the colour was a little lighter at first glance, but its a perfect match :) :) Have 2 have it fitted now B) <_<

Yep im intrested at that price :-) When I was enquiring about super whites I was told they also do platinum white, around £40 each..are they any better/more HID?? Im intrested in either one..let me knw. thx :)

I got my spoiler :D :D Had to pay c&e charge tho £24!! In total the spoiler cost £135, painted. Only thing i wana change is the cover for the brake light ...its red, i prefer the clear like UK sports spoiler. Does anyone knw if i can just buy this alone, and what part number it is? :D :) :D :)

Has anyone converted the IS200headlights to xenon? (for those who don’t have xenon as standard) with a aftermarket kit! I got some Phillips blue vision bulbs, which I was hoping would give a little xenon effect!! Not very impressed tho. Decided to get the real thing now, I know there is a issue around the Auto-leveling! But still want 2 get xenon’s. any idea of how much it costs ? read something about the xenon bulbs not fitting the halogen units!! I think this topic has been discussed b 4, sorry if im repeating it again!
