  1. Sounds like you're a happy bunny. Congratulations.
  2. Happy to help - welcome to LOC, by the way and congratulations on choosing a SportCross. I've had mine 15 months and I love it.
  3. Mine were fitted before I bought the car, presumably by the Lexus dealer who initially sold the car in 2004, but here's a photo:
  4. Talking of bikes which have reliability issues.... I was talking to a GS rider up in Scotland last week who said (and I quote him faithfully) "it's a great bike, but I'd never want to own one which was out of warranty". Sometimes, being a VFR owner make you very smug! :D
  5. I agree, the 996 looks and sounds terrific. Down through Melton, Oakham and a lap of Rutland Water is one of my regular afternoons out on the bike - PM me your number and I'll give you a shout next time I am down that way. You can make me a cuppa! :)
  6. Stuff the Ducati, it’ll break down every 5 minutes. What you need is a Honda! You’ll really enjoy the bike lessons, Rik, it really is far more fun than driving even a nice car like the IS. Shires Motorcycle Training have a really good reputation here in Derby, and they also have a branch in Leicester – prices are on their web site: www.shiresmt.com
  7. Here in Derby, you drop your Lexus off at the Lexus dealer and they immediately move it next door to the Toyota dealer with whom they share a workshop. So, ask yourself whether the parts Toyota would use are really any different? I suspect not.
  8. I passed Inverness on the A9 at about 0530 this morning - does that count?
  9. It sounds like the Smart was a bit of a dsiaster, so I'm glad you've seen the light. Welcome!
  10. Do we have a "quote of the month" section? That certainly qualifies.

Another member from Derby, there's quit a few of us nowadays. Welcome!
  12. My SportCross came from Derby too - great dealer, great service. Hope you enjoy the 220.
  13. I agree – I considered whether the 300 was getting too expensive to run as fuel is now far more expensive than when I bought it just 15 months ago and the road tax hike is looming. But, since my mileage isn’t all that high I’ve decided to stick with the Lexus ‘cos it’s just a brilliant car. Late yesterday evening, I came home form Buxton and on quite peak district roads, the Lexus was just such a pleasure to drive – great acceleration for rapid overtakes, good handling on fast A roads, very comfortable, decent stereo etc. Before anybody mentions it, yes, I do know the A515 and A52 are now 50 limits all the way so a 1.0 Micra would have been perfectly capable of doing the trip as defined by Her Majesty’s legal boys……. My Lexus stays. If I really want to cut the cost of motoring, the sensible plan would be to cycle to work.
  14. Pleased to hear you had a good day, guys. Sorry I couldn't come along, but if you thought it was hot there, you should have tried a trip down the M6 on the bike in full leathers – very sweaty! TT 2008 on the Isle of Man was great. :D
  15. Welcome - great cars aren't they?
  16. Thanks! I've been away the past 5 days, driving my Dad's 520i. Tonight, I drove my own IS300 again - it's a rapid wee sports car and I love it! :D
  17. I never do at home, which is totally flat and off the public highway, but I do apply the handbrake everywhere else.
  18. Agreed, the SportCross adds the hatch practicality to the already excellent 300 - and they really do look great.

I do think the SportCross is a really good looking car, and in black it looks stunning! Those wheels suit it too. Welcome to LOC.
