  1. I took my car in for a 70k service on tuesday to a lexus dealer, does anybody have or know what is ment to be replaced apart from oil and filter for the 70k service, as im gonna ring them up tomorrow and complain as not everything was changed and dont want to look a fool if the items, that have not been changed arnt ment to. ... have not changed the air filter, toped up the coolant(was told coolant gets replaced @ 70k..bollo*cks) or washer fluid but hav charged me for it on the invoice. ....what p i s s e s me off is that they were quick to tell me what faults the car had/what needed replacing, but they cant get there "BASIC" servicing right!!! @ a main lexus dealership. Rant over.
  2. if u enjoy a auto but want to change gear........get a is300
  3. nice jokes, rather enjoyin ur daily stuff!
  4. those arnt standard rear light are they? - u got anymore pics of them and were u get them from?
  5. i have the excact same problem on my is300, plugs have been changed(oem), car checked for codes, battery changed...still same prob...its booked into lexus on the 27th to c whats wrong.
  6. there was another road test on the is200 when it came out in 99'.... but cant seem to remember the name of the show... driven rings a bell.
  7. got my is300 booked with lexus birmingham in 2 weeks - 70k service: changing the usual stuff oil, filters ect, also includes coolant change for £230 + a courtesy car. Not bad price for a main dealer.
  8. i only have the starting probs if i leave the car for 5 hrs or more.
  9. i have the same problem, ive changed the battery, plugs, service...still same prob...got it booked with luxus b'ham in a few weeks, hopefully they can sort it out. - they said that it could be running rich, but theyll need to c it first.
  10. i was 19 when i got my is300 - now 23 - still a pleasure to drive
  11. loads of is200's here in coventry and gazillions in birmingham.....never seen another 300 though, i allways like pullin up nxt to a 200, and edging my car forwards, and let them see the is300 badge(sad i know...i have a life (i think)
  12. i remember the is200 in 1999 being reviewed on TG back in the day!
  13. jus want to ask a question regarding finance. ive got currently a is300 and have seen a is250 that i like @ lexus b'ham & wolverhampton.....if i do buy one off them it will be a p/x with my is300 and paying the rest of the balance via lexus finance option. -My question is which finance option is the one to go for, for the customer that is, not the finance option the dealer wants to sell, so he'll get a huge fat cheque in his pocket!. Thanks
  14. on a track ive managed 145mph in my is300, still had some go left as it was not redlining.
  15. how about if u lift the back wheels up and just hav the front wheels in contact with the road?
  16. just a mear 73000(as my friend said to me "thats not even run-in"), was only 30,000 when i bought it 2 yrs ago. - not a lexus but my 97 merc sprinter 2.9TD, bought brand new with 4miles on the clock.... has 305775, still pulls 3ton plus like a train 6 days a week.
  17. for me it dont make a difference...i went down to wim yesterday around approx 90miles each way..on the way there i set the cruise at around 70mph and on the way back without cruise was doin above 70...and the fuel usage was more or less the same.....most i have ever got out off a tank is around 290miles..
  18. the only thing to me that would be obvious is that the headunit has not been wired correctly.... but im sure someone with more knowledge than me can shed some "light" on this(sorry).
  19. i can amagine...tony and another guy were quite fed-up with him...so would i be, he kept changing his mind regardin his set-up...what time were u there ian?
  20. i was down there to today around 9:30am ..i arrived the same time as the mustang guy but Tony started his car first, as i needed a steering arm fitted too......after a long wait & abt 3hrs later, the mustang came off the geo' lift and mine went on. ...what made me laugh was the mustang guy kept takin Sh*t loads of pics of his car....(was a nice car though), but a bit OTT i think.
  21. not had mine long - only 3 yrs but its a 03 IS300 with the TTE styling kit.....people at my work still coment on how nice/individual the car looks compared to the usual 3 series, c class etc..Great Car & Engine. - been thinkin of changin the IS with somethin newer, but keep goin back to the 300 for some reason...cant part with it(sad i know)...other brands have nice exterior designs like the new audi's,mercs etc.. but when u drive them and compare them overall to the IS..the 9 year old IS design/reliability/design wins it all the time for me!!...the 3 litre straight 6 & the gearbox from the GS is just so SUPERB...POWER and smoothness. I drove a is250 not long ago, nice car dont get me wrong, would swap my 300 for one if they drop in price a bit more.. but the engine jus felt like it was missing something.
