Is it a Mk1 GS? Not sure about the Mk2, on the Mk1 they are located along the centre line of the engine under the cover on the top. You can tell which cover from where the HT leads disappear under it from the dizzy cap. You have to remove the throttle body to get to all of them.

That is the thing though. If it doesn't have ABS then it can't fail. But, if it does have ABS and the light doesn't function correctly then it would fail, as it shows that the ABS system is not working. i.e. it should come on with the ignition and then go out, not be out all the time. Worth double checking with a garage still I guess.

Welcome to LOC. I'm not convinced it will get through an MOT with the ABS like it is either. The MOT station will know it has ABS fitted and if the check light doesn't illuminate when the ignition switch is turned on then it would fail anyway. I can't think of any reason why a sensor would be removed other than the sensor needing replacing. Even if another component had failed, removing the sensor would be pointless.

Mine has, although it is in the glove box as I like it off.

Is that the one with the skull gear selector knob? Tacky as **** with the skull but I do quite like the body kit myself. Reminds me of the X-Pack style on the Mk2 Capri.

Wow, that is a big time oversight. Surely you could not have missed the question asking if you possess a full UK driving license and how long for? I agree it would be pointless arguing with them and count yourself lucky you are not being done for driving without insurance. Must admit, £600 seems a lucky escape if that's all it cost. So the airbags didn't deploy?

Good luck with what ever you decide to do. I personally don't think you will get anywhere with the driver or the company. a few years ago a HGV smashed half my front bumper off while I was parked outside where I work. Came out and found it hanging off and the wing buckled up. I was there trying to bodge it all back together so I could get home when a guy came over and started chatting to me finding out what had happened. The following day I found a note on my windscreen from a witness who saw the truck hit the car and gave me the reg no. They didn't want to be an official witness as the driver delivered to their place. Turns out the guy who was chatting to me was the cheaky :tsktsk: who had done it. I called the company and police. I then get a call from this guy on my mobile threatening me. Called the police again and he denied all knowledge of the prang or the phone call. The upshot was that with no witness, there was no hope in hell as it was my word against his. I was not a happy bunny. Edit: Edit of Janey's edit as "cheaky chappie" makes it sound like a happy situation, which it wasn't

I would've though if you hit a wall @ 40mph it would be an insurance job. Airbags deployed and all that. Good news no one was hurt.

I think that is the interior motion sensor for the alarm.

What is the lock doing when he turns it? If it isn't turning, maybe that is due to the barrel not being turned probably ever. I've had this before because the fobs mean people hardly ever turn the key in the lock and they corrode. I find it hard to believe that any car that has keys (not a keyless entry) would lock someone out when they have the key.

If the car is dead-locked (when the button has been pressed twice), I don't believe you can do this. I thought the key will always be able to open it, the dead locking stops the internal buttons and levers working so that if the windows are smashed, the doors still can't be opened.

Assuming the RX works similar to the GS, the O/D light means you have turned overdrive off. On my GS this is a button on the side of the gear selector knob.

Sounds like a nice motor you have picked up. Don't forget some pics ;) The clear side repeaters off the RX300 are direct replacements for the Mk1 and Mk2 GS, part number is 81730-20220, no idea on price though. I want to get some for mine too and forgot to ask the dealer last week when I was ordering some other bits and pieces.

Can't help much with your questions but: Yes, the Numbers/Letters on the gear selector should be lit up, but no idea on the bulb. As far as viewing replies goes, at the top of the first post in a thread, there is an "Options" button with a little down arrow next to it. Click it and a drop down list will show up. On the "Display Modes" section, choose "Standard". You should then see the whole thread and not single replies. :winky:

Do you have any fuller pics dibsLPG to show the size of the cap etc in respect to the car? I'm contemplating an LPG conversion on my GS300 and this aspect has been bothering me too.

For me it is aquariums. I've been keeping fish since I was 8 years old so knocking on the door of being in the hobby for 30 years. I'm having to downsize a wee bit at the moment due to an nearing house move down south. Some stuff is going with me, most isn't though. What is going: 6'x2'x2' 150 gallons freshwater. This is my freshwater "shark" tank. Most of the fish are asian/african fish. The black shark is a gnats knacker under 2 feet long. Once the move is over, this tank will be ditched and a 9'x2.5'x3' tank will be built. 40 gallon salt water Reef Tank Ones that are going :( 5ft 75 gallon freshwater. The striped fish is one of the reasons for my username, an Indonesian Tigerfish 42 gallon freshwater 30 Gallon planted there are also another 5 tanks to breakdown plus a shed load of empty tanks in the garage to sell.

Took the amber part out earlier today, does look much better. :)

I've been toying with the idea of breaking out the orange part of the indicator. Just keep thinking that if it goes wrong, I'll have screwed up perfectly good indicators. I want to get clear side repeaters too, but not found any that look the same but clear yet.

Just pulled the volume knob off and does look like that bulb is out :(

Just like to say a big thanks to sorted vti. I have been trying to get a hold of the "sport" emblem to go back on the front airdam under the fog lamp on my GS300 Sport. No joy unfortunately from Lexus (thanks for trying Chris.S) so was pointed in sorted vti's direction. He made me up some sport logos using the IS Sport logo. Just gave him the measurements and asked for 1 in white and 1 in silver 'cos I wasn't sure which colour to go for. He sent me those two plus 1 in black and 1 in red. Went for the white one in the end. Well chuffed when they arrived last Friday. Top job Neil. Anyone who needs any decals for their cars, Neil is your man B)
