  1. Do you have a pic of what you mean re: bleed screw? Reason I ask, is mine has a filler cap on it. Which either means it is meant to have, or mine has been changed, which may well mean what you are looking at may well fit if thats what has been done to mine.
  2. To be fair, having not owned an IS200, I'm just suggesting what are possibilities. I know some models do have electrical type wear indicators, some have acoustic (metal tab that scrapes). I don't believe the fog lamps are part of the brake system check lamp (the exclamation mark lamp). By spoiler, I meant if you have spoiler, they normally have a brake light built in. Low level fluid could also trigger the lamp. Is the TRC lamp on solidly, or flashes?
  3. Incidentally, have you check the pad wear sensors? They would put the wear lamp on once the pedal has been pressed (as well as brake lamp bulbs being out - cluster, high-level, and spoiler lamps).
  4. What does the TRC light do if you press the TRC button?
  5. I would expect the abs light to indicate abs component issues. If it goes off after initial check, then abs components should be ok. The hand brake and TRC lamps would tend to suggest something brake related, but not abs. I'll have a dig around. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  6. Doesn't the Is200 have an abs light on the dash? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  7. Yeah, not cheap, certainly the last resort. It only needs a small amount of charging, just enough for the fob to open the door. You can then charge from under the bonnet once it's open. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  10. I've used a manual one for years (pump it up to form a vacuum and leave it to it - pump for about 10 seconds, very simple). With my old E36 BMW it made life even simpler as the oil filter was at the top of the engine under the bonnet, so no need to go under the car at all. When you say what to do with the oil, do you mean whilst emptying it, or after you've drained and want to dispose of? As above, the local tip has an area for used oil. My manual one holds the oil whilst extracting, and can then go in the empty bottle your new oil has come out of. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. Haha, I like it. Who'd have thought you could make an LS look interesting 😛 Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  13. To change the filter does require the gearbox sump to be removed, so it needs to be opened. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  14. Do you know what fluid the previous owner used? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  15. Using the tapatalk app and can't see what model and year you have? Are you getting the issues from fault codes? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  16. I have sometimes been that "bright spark", you so disparingly refer to. I fail to see what is pointless, about highlighting an obviously poor history on a vehicle a member is considering buying. Some advisories are a bit mickey mouse, plenty, like bald tyres, defective braking systems, for example, are indicative of neglect, surely something of interest to anybody considering a purchase? Did you read the rest of this thread, does it not answer your question? However, if you think it is of benefit, then feel free to carry on. For me personally, I see no value add in such random and subjective observations by MOT testers. It doesn't indicate poor history in any way, as is evident from this thread. 17. Welcome to LOC, your car looks very nice 😎 Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  18. Interestingly, despite things like this around advisories, whenever a car comes up for sale on here (and other brand car forums I frequent), some bright spark will always start quoting all the advisories that are being listed against it, and therefore why it's not worth what someone is asking for. Absolutely pointless, but it happens almost without fail. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  20. Best bet is to get the codes read. Where are you located? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  21. Can you do a pic of the connectors you have, and give the wire colours? None of the plugs on the back of my 2001 GS430 matched the aux lead connectors from 3rd parties either for the year and model details. I can pull the head unit on mine at the weekend to check those. So far, it leads me to believe that Lexus didn't use the same ***** they had documents for... lol. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
