  1. Its weird but IS200's in the Irish market have different colour names than in the UK. For example Aztec Fire is called Burnt Orange and I know another few but I just cannot remember them! Do you know what trim level it is? I think in Ireland they have the IS200, IS200 Executive and IS200 Sport? Can't be the base model as it has the 17" five spokers unless someone upgraded them at some stage?
  2. I thought HID was supposed to be on high beam, just like it is with OEM HID e.g. on the IS300?
  3. I thought SteveAudio had began stripping his back to standard?
  4. Guys, just to resurrect this thread as I'm new to all this HID stuff. I'm interested in some HID's for my Lex and came across this Meccatune Red Sun kit also. I think the one Prolex sells is the Gold kit which must be of better quality than the Red Sun? Also, I presume its just the main beam (9005) that gets upgraded to HID and not the dipped beam too? On cars with OEM HID (e.g. IS300) is it just the main beam that is HID or is it dipped as well? Sorry for all the q's Gavin
  5. There is an article somewhere about removing the orange wedge :winky:
  6. That must be why mine dont work then How do you convert them? Do you just do this in the menu when burning? I use roxio or nero. ← You need to create an 'Audio CD' as opposed to a 'Data CD' (it seems like you are creating a data disc at the moment). By creating an audio cd it will convert the MP3 files to a standard audio cd format so they can be played in any standard cd player. Obviously you will still have the 74 or 80 minutes limitation on the number and length of tracks you can have on the disc.
  7. I've used Farcela G3 and found it great for removing swirl marks, light scratches, haze etc. But i would think you would need to be careful with it as it could remove the paint because it is abrasive. Don't think it will help your stone chips as the paint is already 'gone' from that part although I suppose you could use it to rub down the chip after you have touched it up with a few layers of touch up paint. On another note, I've just used the Meguiars 3 stage Deep Crystal treatment on my car and the results were excellent. It would probably be ever better on a darker coloured car than mine. The 1st stage removes light scratches, swirls etc., the 2nd is a polish and the 3rd is a wax. Meguiars also have a product called Scratch X which can be used for harder to remove scratches. Halfords have started stocking Meguiars. I got mine from www.speeding.co.uk Hope that helps Gavin
  8. I have a set of McGard Wheel Locks to protect my OZ Hydras. Cost around £30 - £40 I think. They seem to be well designed in that it would be diffcult to force any sort of socket or removal tool over them to take them off as they are completly round and smooth. I remember reading a review in a car magazine once when they came out where they tested these and it took a professional over 35mins to remove one of them. Another handy thing is that when you buy these you get a registation card which you send off to them in Germany so if you ever lose the key you can phone them and receive a replacment in 24 - 48hrs. Like someone has already pointed out, I'g imagine these are only to deter the opportunist thief and may not prevent someone who really wants your wheels and has the equipment to overcome the locks. I'd recommend these and I've used them on two previous cars and found them very good.
  9. I would like to change the brake fluid in my IS200. Is it a simple DIY job or does it require any special equipment? Can I drain the old stuff out by removing the hoses from the calipers? I'd presume that getting the air out of the system after it could be an issue? Any help/advice apprciated. Cheers Gavin
  10. The brake, clutch and footrest aren't that expensive (the brake and clutch just have rubber covers that can be removed and replaced). However the accelerator pedal is costly as far as I remember because the whole unit including the mechanism under the dash where it connects to the cable has to be replaced. Think I priced one for a mate once in Lexus Belfast, was over £100 plus VAT. Send Chris Shipley a PM, he will be able to help you and I'm sure the parts will be much cheaper from a UK Lexus dealer as opposed to an Irish one.
  11. No mate, I never did buy one in the end, was looking at the L-Sportline I think it was, it was just a little bit different to the UGO spoilers and I liked it.... Good luck getting this sorted, my spend on the car has hit a brick wall lately, can't afford to spend any more on it, spending all my money on beer and women at the moment, it's more fun than spending it one the car :P ← Is this the end of the road for the mods? or just until you get tired of the beer and women :P
  12. so did i gav :D well £149 :P ← Lexatcy must have been shipping to the UK last year? No worries Dave, let me know when you hear anything mate
  13. What's the difference T-Mute and MUTE? In the link (I've posted above) to the product it states that it comes with radio mute cable with line output (ISO cables). Does this mean that the sound will come via these cables to the car speakers? As you can probably guess I'm not too hot on car electronics. ← Ifraz, I don't think its that easy to have the sound from the carkit coming out of the speakers on the IS200. For a start it doesn't have ISO leads and the factory AMP in the SE/Sport will cause more problems.
  14. Do they not have a USB 2.0 interface? If so this is faster than Firewire and most newish PC's all have USB 2.0 ports as standard without the need for adding a Firewire card
  15. Aido, I did try Scott but he only has the Modellista which I'm not really that keen on. Also tried Dave @ Prolex and he said he would look into it but I haven't heard from him since. I've dropped Mark @ TDi a PM so I'll see what he says. BTW, I remember you were going to get one for your car. Did you ever get it?
  16. Thanks for that Baz I seem to remember you have one? How much did it cost, where did you get it and how is it fitted? Sorry for all the questions :mat: Thanks Gavin
  17. I've been trying to get hold of a UK supplier for the above but no luck I know Lextacy in the US do them but when I contacted them they rather unpolitely told me they don't ship outside of the US (excuse me for asking). Can anyone who has one on there IS please let me know where they got it from? BTW, how is it attached to the car? Is it bonded? Cheers Gavin
  18. Galla, what part of Ireland are you in?
  19. The 18" Styling Kit alloys are made by Team Dynamics ← not seen any box but are Team Dynamics in England then ? ← Not sure Gord, I think they might be English but I'm sure someone will correct me I got one in Lexus Belfast for BESTY once and I saw it on the box.

  21. I've set up a brand new desktop PC (HP DX2000 P4 2.8GHz 512MB RAM) running XP Pro to act as a Print Server at work. Its running a total of 8 printers of various types its giving me some serious problems at the moment :tsktsk: When some (not all) of the clients try to print to a printer on this server they get the error that the printer is unavailable. If I open Printers and Faxes on the clients PC, all the printers are showing Unable to connect. The only way I can get clients to see the printers again is to restart the Print Spooler service on the Print Server or in some cases reboot it. The clients are all running XP Pro and the Print Server is logged in with an account that is setup as a local administrator of that PC. Any ideas, anyone? I've trawled through the internet and MS Technet for information on this but I'm completely stumped at the moment. Cheers Gavin
  22. I changed the coolant in my IS200. Went to Toyota and got the red pre-mixed stuff. Took about 8 litres I think. It would be safer to stick with the proper coolant.
  23. Looking good mate. Time for a bodykit and rear lip spoiler methinks?
  24. I’m going to be visiting the mainland over the next few days from work and as I may have a few spare hours to have a look around I was wondering does anybody know what Lexus dealers (if any) are nearest to Brigg, North Lincolnshire and Swansea? The only one over here is Lexus Belfast. Won’t have the IS200 with me, just a rental car :) Cheers Gavin
