  1. the difference in price is currently around £3.20 a tank in my area, but i get around 70 miles more out of the tank, give or take (around £10's worth of cheaper fuel, give or take, so still saving just under £7 a tank effectively), and the difference in power and performance is well worth it even if i don't save anything lol :) of course that is all based on conservative driving, if i give it some the smile takes over and all the science goes out the window as fast as the fuel goes out the exhaust LOL
  2. i only run mine on the premium, usually tesco 99 or v power, but the other day i was only able to find asda 95 where i was and had no choice, and there is a noticable difference in power and performance, and the mpg is a good 3 or 4 lower so for me i notice a big difference and can't wait to empty this tank and get back to my usual premium stuff.
  3. Hi Steve new site looks great, but i am seeing that the sign in sign out options are obscured slightly in the top right hand corner, and also the view new posts button is obscured by the 'we are social' buttons for twitter, facebook etc. that's the only thing i have experienced thanks.
  4. don't worry about going round corners at that speed, i assure you the car won't run away with you, it is one of the best handling cars i have owned or driven. i regularly drive down country roads and have pushed mt 250 se-l at lot harder than 40 to 50mph without so much as a twitter, unless you have really bad tyres lol. just relax and let it do its thing, it is far more capable than you will ever need :)
  5. i was told by a dealer never to turn the aircon off manually, just let the auto climate control do it when it needs to, and also in winter leave the air recirculation switch on open, and in summer leave it closed, that is the most efficient apparently, and i have to admit since i did that in both my lexus and toyota, neither mist up anymore. hope that helps
  6. it works perfectly WOHOO!! i burned a disc at the weekend and even added a pic of the IS250 as the background and it plays great. you do need to have the unit hacked to see the playback on the move tho, but it does work. i am now in the process of burning all my music onto 4 discs!!!!! great tip, thanks very much!!!!
  7. first, the parking sensors fitted by the dealer will not display on the screen, that is the se-l factory spec only. secondly, if you want to put mp3 files on a dvd you will have to do the hack, as the system does not read normal mp3 dvds, only if you use audio dvd creator which makes it a movie basically which you can then play back but if you don't have dvd playback enabled on the move then you will hear the music but not be able to see the screen to navigate tracks. i tried it at the weekend and it works, and i am curently burning all my discs then will take a pic to show you, but you will will only be able to play mp3 cds through the normal audio mode. i used this link for the sat nav hack, which enabled the phone dvd playback and mp3 folders on the move: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-...hen-moving.html hope this helps :)
  8. i'm downloading it now and will try it and see, but i'm not holding my breath, i have never been able to get a dvd mp3 disc to play in mine, only original dvd movies.
  9. i'm having the rear quarter panel done on mine in two weeks, and the guy quoted me 100 quid for the job, and 30 quid for the little plastic stone chip guard thing below the rear door. he also said the bumpers would be 130 quid each. so a bonnet i would think would be between 150 and 200. lexus quoted me 900 for the rear quarter and 500 forthe bumper, so it can well vary depending on where you go lol
  10. Dave250, mine does exactly that if i leave it on auto, with the AC on. all i ever do is set the temperature i want and it does the rest, and if i leave the screen on climate, i can see it changing the vent position and fan speed. i also leave the recirculation setting on auto. the only time i change the setting is to defrost the windscreen by pressing the front defrost button, and then it goes back to auto when i turn it off. are you sure you have the auto setting on?
  11. white = always dirty lol my favourite colour was my granite sky is200 and the scratches and dirt didn't show as much as on other colours
  12. my AC is never off. several dealers (not just lexus or toyota) have told me that modern systems like to be on all the time, and to be honest, i haven't noticed any difference in consumption (gettign anywhere between 33 and 39mpg depending on journey). my advice is just let it do its thing. i have even started leaving the AC on in my other car which is an Aygo.
  13. mine revs high when it's cold. but it goes back down below 1000 again after a minute or so if i let it idle.
  14. my first lexus was an IS200 se Auto, and it was a great car, but my 250 se-l is just in a different league i think. the quality of the plastics and finish, the smoothness of the power delivery, the solid feel of everything is just so much better. it still has a real exciting driving experience to me, and i feel the handling is actually better than the 200 if you are thrashing it, but the comfort is also better when you flick it back into normal mode and just want to waft along. the economy is a lot better too. i would reccomend any is 200 driver upgrading to the 250, you won't be disappointed especially if you go for the auto with the paddle shift as you get hte best of both worlds.
  15. Hi my first Lex was an is200 in the same colour and i loved it. i'm sure you will enjoy it for as long as you have it, i only swapped mine for a is250 lol. welcome!
  16. i've never used them and my hands have never stunk of fuel, even when i had diesels. just doesn't even occur to me that they are there lol.
  17. Hi i have a Jan 2006 se-l and in addition to the dash rattle (easily solved by pushing some foam or sponge down between the windscreen and the dash), i had to get them to adjust the passenger seat as it was rattling, and in the summer the rear window can rattle when it's been left in the sun. i did have a rattle or rather a creak from the driver's door, but putting some silicon spray on the door rubbers solved that. other than those, the car is awesome, and i can't recommend it highly enough. i am sure you will be very pleased with it
  18. all the snow button does is reduce the throttle automatically. if you drive along and turn it on then off you will feel the difference as the car reduces the throttle. i find snow driving is really about smooth gentle input, and trying to keep your momentum as much as possible without making sudden movements. but there comes a point where you just aren;t going to get anywhere no matter what you do lol. i managed to go out today, and had no problems till i got back home, and about 10 feet from my house i stupidly tried to stop and reverse back onto the drive, thinking it would then make it easier to get back out again. of course once i stopped to put it in reverse - nothing! my neighbour who was walking past just had to give a gentle push on the front and i shot up my drive without much hassle lol! oh for the old 007 tires with the spikes that shoot out on demand lol!!! Merry Christmas everyone
  19. Hi Thanks for answering the post :) they definitely balanced all 4 wheels - i watched them do it. But what is tire run out??? all i know about is balancing and geometry??? cheers
