  1. Hi and welcome the biggest tip i can give you is make sure you get one with full service history! i made the mistake of buying one without, and i am now having to spend a small fortune giving it the love and care it deserves to get it back to the condition it should be in. but it is an awesome car and i am over the moon with mine and the envy of all my family
  2. welcome! nice to know there's someone else in the club in my area :) hope to see you at a meet sometime
  3. hmmm, i think it would have been a mazda mx6, or the rx8, or astra VXR
  4. well done and congratulations!!! hope you teach her to keep the car clean as she grows up
  5. I have the CK-7w in mine, with the top loader, and my mute works fine, but it fitted over a year ago and i can't for the life of me remember which pin i connected to couldn't get it to work through the car speakers though so i used the seperate speaker and stuck it behind the dash below the steering wheel. sorry i can't be of more help i also didn't fit a cradle cause it is bluetooth as well, i just keep the phone in the centre console
  6. Welcome to the club Mate. Enjoy your car and the club - it can become addicitve :)
  7. that's the pretty standard way to turn any woman off isn't it?
  8. Absolutely GORGEOUS Mate!!!! wish i could afford a new IS. I absolutley love them. May she bring you many miles of enjoyment and satisfaction :)
  9. Hi Ya M8 Congratulations on your car and welcome to the club!
  10. Hi ya Mate and welcome i too have been using AutoGlym for years, and only found out about maguires since joining the club, and i am going to try it when my current stuff runs out. having seen a few of the videos and pics posted over time, i think maguires is the way to go. especially the clay bar and 3 step products. i am big on keeping my car clean and spend hours on it every weekend despite the abusive comments from the neighbours about being 'sad' and 'getting a life' LOL, and i think if you start from new with these products your 250 will look the business for years! enjoy collecting your new baby :)
  11. i put 4 Marshall Matrac on my is200, and they are surprisingly good. i paid £276.00 for all four and they are good enough that the traction control hasn't kicked in since i fitted them :) mine are 215/45/r17 W rated if that helps
  12. Bet you the Mexican didn't have to pay council tax, boooze tax or the sell your children, your wife and all non-essential body parts to pay income tax, tax!!! :P
  13. if you go visor type, the best by far in my opinion is the Jabra sp500. i have one for when i travel and use hire cars. it is brilliant and clear, and the volume is excellent.
  14. this was my initial confusion, because i don't see the point in that. if i press the power button it means i'm a second away from planting the accelerator through into the engine compartment and if i do that with the button switched on or off, it makes no difference, the engine will go to the red line before changing. what i really want it to do is give me the power boost that comes in at 4500rpm, much lower in the revs range so that when i am at junctions, roundabouts, or when the urge overwhelms me, i can boot it without having to leave a gap waiting for the revs to build up. it's almost as if she has to brace herself and take a deep breath first! from what i'm told the camcon? is the way to go. i see pro-lex do one and i am going to contact them about it when the dosh flow has grown a little.
  15. love the description thanks. comes from trying to be a motoring journalist like jeremy clarkson when i was a teenager : got published once and they edited out all my witty comments :tsktsk: the witty comments were the only thing worth reading about a Ssangyong Musso!!!!
  16. Hi i have a nokia bluetooth CK-7W in my IS200 and it works a treat with any bluetooth phone. thre is no cradle, just a little button to answer and end, and it cost me £70 online. took me about 30 mins to install (although i would imagine your dash is far more complicated than mine) and it mutes the radio and all. couldn't find an iso connector for lexus tho, but you may be able to pick one up online somewhere which will make it even easier. good luck and welcome back to the family :)
  17. my friend has a Z4 se in black and she loves it. she commutes an hour a day each way and says it doesn't give her back pain or antyhing so i reckon it's ok. she did say that you should make sure you get one with the heated seats as they make a real difference in the winter :) and the Xenon lights would be better too apparently. hope this helps.
  18. it's already in the diary! WooHoo!!!
  19. thanks for that. next question - is there a way of reprogramming it so that if you press the pwr button it sets the timing to the max performance no matter what the revs? in other words instead of taking of from 4500 it takes off from stand still? feel free to tell me if i'm being an idiot - i'm just learning about all this stuff. usually to me if the car starts it's working, if not call the AA. i only open the bonnet to fill the washer or clean the engine bay, couldn't tell you what anything in there does if my life depended on it. i suppose i should really do some work but this site is becoming addictive!!!
  20. Ahh. thanks. i will check it out on the way home :)
  21. but then why does it take off like a rocket at 4500rpm? below that my mother could walk faster, but the second it hits 4500 all hell breaks loose and away you go, kinda like my fiat turbo used to? geeez i'm so confused!!!!
  22. well, it is nearly 3 hours away from me, but if i can i will make the drive up to meet everyone!!! might have to wash the car again when i get there tho before it will be ready to face the public scrutiny :P
  23. I may be dumb, but i can't for the life of me figure out what purpose the PWR button has in my Auto SE??? the car reacts exactly the same whether i have it turned on or not. i was expecting it to unleash the vvti much earlier or something to improve performance, but there is no difference whatsoever! when i use the snow button there is an obvious change in the engine and performance, so why not with the PWR button? Can someone enlighten me?
