  1. I think the original post was tongue in cheek. A bit harsh Vlad?
  2. I would bite the financial bullet and buy from a Lexus Dealer, one with a full service history. Provided you have the car serviced at a main Lexus dealer, you get a 10 year Relax Warranty. Servicing is not cheap but you will get peace of mind knowing that non-consumable repairs should be covered.
  3. I had a 1974 Carina, like the white one. A fantastically reliable car. I saw it do 100,000 miles, then my friend bought it for his wife to learn to drive. It died of rust - the engine was still good.
  4. I am going to use Lanoguard. I have used Waxoyl in the past. By all accounts Lanoguard is easy to apply but needs doing every 12 months. I feel it is worth the effort. Another member on here is doing the same and will hopefully post photos.
  5. If the tyres are the correct specification for that vehicle I would not be too concerned. They are budget tyres - depends how you drive. The dealer put those on because they were cheap! £53 If you were unhappy with them, then you will need to budget for a complete change and possibly sell the Black Arrows ?
  6. You have an itch to scratch Malc! Is this going to be a replacemen t for one of your cars? It could be an interesting choice.
  7. BX61SYO? £8995? Looks a peach - but speedometer has not been converted to mph? Would that be an MOT issue? Compliance?
  8. The only car I have driven in with a ride nearly as good as the LS400 was an old Citreon DS Safari Estate.
  9. Consider the car is an old Citreon - you have to cancel them yourself! My LS400 indicators are very quiet and that can lead to them being left on.
  10. Yes, had one made for a RX300. It was not the same fob - more like a VW one. Localish locksmith charged around £180 IIRC.
  11. Please take some photos if you can - I am interested in doing this myself. Just keep the Lanoguard away from the brake assembly. I understand you can put it on the exhaust but not the manifold.
  12. Blocked nozzles? Go to a petrol station and blast some air down the holes. Have you checked underneath to see if the pipe has come loose? There will be water on the floor. I believe there is only one pump.
  13. If I were to go for a convertible then I would probably have to go for the SC430. The cost of repairs /parts would concern me.
  14. The inside opinion appears it to be a good thing. Marshall grouyp are part of a bigger organisation that have large stakes in Cinch or WBAC (?) and British Car Auctions. Lexus UK were not happy about newer stock appearing on non-dealer sites like Cinch. As Nick says - time will tell.
  15. Comparing boot liners is very misleading. The NX appears to be only slightly smaller than the 400h. In fact the NX is a lot smaller. The seats in the RX400h can be moved forward. The under storage area is also bigger. If you want a BIG boot then buy the 450h-L!
  16. Have you had any issues with your ES? That is a big mileage in 2 years!
  17. The lights on my RX300 were very good. But the 400h I owned was poor, even after a lens buff. No comparison compared to the excellent LED's they now fit.
  18. You make a very interesting point here Pete. I am not saying go back to the 1960's cars but the technology now available - is it really necessary? I hope to do a review of my LS 400 as some point and I will make some comparisons with my NX300h. The tech, if you are not careful, can be more distracting than helpful. I never use the infotainment screen / menu etc while driving. Fortunately, on the NX, there are buttons for the most useful and used instruments. I can imagine the younger members of our Lexus community may not agree.
