  1. I decided to buy the interior I've found here in Sweden, after I found out how much a new one is (~100.000kr ~£8000). Now, is it possible to take the new interior with me, in my car or do I need a bigger car?
  2. I'm 21. Went from a Volvo 745 -87 to another 745 -87 to a Mazda 626 -95 to my IS200.
  3. Here's my video from the 2007 start:
  4. Thank you both! I've decided to buy the interior. There are 1225 IS200s in sweden, of which most of them are from -99 or -00, so the odds of an 04 model crashing aren't that high. What differs the 04 interior from my 00 one? I know there are chrome rings around the front speakers and it says Lexus on the rear speaker frames(?), but are there more differences? The problem would be to ship them over here. I believe that's quite expensive, but I'm not sure.
  5. Hi, I’ve just come across a breaker who’s got a complete half leather interior for sale. He currently wants 9000 kr (£720) for the front seats (heated and electronic maneuvered), back seat, door cards, sealings and the shelf (whatever it’s called) behind the back seat. It’s taken off a model 2004 IS200 with just 5130 miles (yes, your miles) behind it. Do you think this is a decent price, or should I keep looking?
  6. Just a quick question, what does LPG mean?
  7. Do you mind if i ask how much the housing cost you? i'm looking a scrap yards now, but dont know what they are worth? Not at all. When I first contacted the scrap yard they wanted 5000kr (£400) for it, but I told them the sat nav system doesn't even work in Sweden, so they let me buy it for 2500kr (£200). I wanted to buy the housing without the display, but they wouldn't separate them. Anyway, it was quite a bargain, considering the Lexus dealer wanted ~40.000kr (£3200) for the housing. It looks quite nice, but it fits so badly it rattles when I drive :P Ebay crap...
  8. Thanks! It's actually quite easy to make a sat nav system, the way I did. I'm selling my screen here, but not on Ebay. I might auction it out later on.
  9. Thanks everyone! So far I've really appreciated the help from other members These are a few of my mods I've done to the car: The first one was HID headlights And LED rear lights Integrated GROM iPod control Since my car had no sat nav, I bought the original housing from a wrecked car. ... and replaced the display with a portable Sony sat nav
  10. Hi! I'm looking for a backbox (i think) that makes the sound a bit more distinct. I want it deeper and a little bit louder, just so that it makes you think "Ah, this car has got more than four cylinders...". In the small town where I live, there are hundreds of Volvo 740/240s with 4" exhausts, sounding like roto-hammers agains wooden walls, scaring the elderly and disturbing the peace at night. I don't want to be associated with those. Example: http://www.garaget.org/video/s27pj8lkjbzc What I'm looking for is more of a bumblebee-trapped-inside-a-cookie-jar like sound. The problem is there are so many different exhausts. The power increase is more or less irrelevant as long as I don't lose power. What do you recommend? Thanks!
  11. Exactly! I forgot to mention I connected the red wire from the sat nav to the switched 12V pin (orange wire). That means the sat nav starts upon ignition, just like the stereo. Another short video demonstration: http://www.garaget.org/video/rjkruxsnqv8m
  12. A few people have asked me how to connect the sat nav housing, and how to power whatever is in it. I couldn't have done it without Geoffers' knowledge, and this is how it works. The only pins you want to use are the following: Permanent live (12v+) - Top right corner Switched live (Acc.) - Bottom right corner Ground - Bottom left corner Behind the plug, the pins obviously continue a couple of millimeters. Thats where I connected another two wires (red and blue), which are connected to my sat nav, inside the housing. The first time, I fastened the wires behind the console and then realized I had soldered them to the pins on the housing. That's why I added this plug, and a matching one on the housing. It's kind of handy if you want to remove the housing. I disconnected my stereo power cables and just connected my wires to the appropriate ones. Blue/yellow - Permanent live - My red wire Grey - Switched live - My orange wire Brown - Ground - My blue wire Hope this helps those of you who want to do something similar.
  13. Well... I think I've found our guinea pig: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/lighting-h-...projectors.html - One unlucky Civic owner, who apparently bought headlights from the same manufacturer. I'm determined to fit new headlights, so I had a look in AACs gallery and found these: Do you think they are retrofitted, or aftermarket lights?
  14. I'll remove my original headlights today or tomorrow, just to see how easy it is. If it's easy enough to swap them twice a year I will order these lights a few days from now. Good luck to us! It isn't difficult to change the lights, 30mins tops for both sides, its just if these new ones for the IS300 will fit your IS200. Which I very much doubt :( This is kind of frustrating. A few people in the Swedish LOC uses IS300 lights on their IS200s, so I could just ask them how they fitted them. The problem is that the forum disappeared a few weeks ago, and now the LOC start page is gone as well: www.lexusclub.se - I have asked Squarespace what happened to the website, and I'm currently waiting for their reply. If they can bring the LOC website back to life I can find at least one thread about fitting IS300 lights. Meanwhile I'm waiting for a few responses from Swedish Lexus dealers, on the same matter. But now... lunch! :P
  15. Will there be any competitions this year?

  17. At least they shouldn't point backwards :) I don't doubt they are adjustable, but to pass an MOT (at least here in Sweden) HID lights need to be automacially adjusted. The plug connects to your original ballast, i suppose, if your car is equipped with HIDs. Otherwise you need to get another one. I've got after market HIDs, but it looks like they will fit the plugs on these lights.
  18. I'm just about to order these, but a few things concern me. Some say American lights point dead straight, which I am sure Swedish lights don't do. Others say they're only suitable får left hand drive cars. That would, of course, be great. Also, our HID headlights are fitted with motors that automatically adjust the beam so that it never points too high. I suppose Americans are not? Another thing is that these lights have two side marker light bulbs each. Is it possible to use the same original wire for both bulbs? The final issue is how they would fit. I know quite a few people use IS300 lights on their IS200s, but how much and what needs to be modified?
  19. I'm about to do the same thing. I've been told the connections should already be there, in your car. Do they ship to Sweden? ;)
  20. Lots of thanks! It works great. Pics/video coming later.
  21. Hi! I've just installed a Pace car HID strobe kit in my fog light housings and I need to put a switch on the dash. However, the engine bay is so well isolated from the inside of the car, so I can't see where to place my wires. Any suggestions? Thanks! Edit: And I'm not the kind of person who uses strobes/lights to move traffic away. Edit 2: I love the german warning text. Sounds like an 80s horror film :D
  22. This is how I did on my IS200:
  23. They may fit, but it will look kind of funny. These are mine:
  24. I'm eagerly waiting for mine. Are they posted yet? :)
